Hillis 3000 wrote this on thread Jay-Z / Nas hip-hop throw down? & other throw-downs? Pt. 2: The Saga Continues. on board I Love Music on May 3, 2002
Damn, yo! This is gettin like the old board (which is a GOOD thing, this new thread was gettin too "watered" down - sports, movies, etc)... Kaptivate, you ain't bout to start throwin pig fucker jokes at me?
No Limit and Cash Money were definitely gimmicks. Master P "Bout It" in every song was doomed to get old. Plus they dropped an album every week. He flooded the market and THAT'S why No Limit fell off. Now, if Nas dropped a Braveheart like No Limit did every other week, and appeared on every song saying "Ill Will" all the time, then he would have dropped off the map, too. Fortunately, Nas didn't do that. He's a better businessman. And Cash Money has gotten old. I'll give you that, too. I'm not arguing for every rapper the South puts out. Unlike YOU, just cause a nigga is hot on ONE song or does a phantom mixtape that no one else hears, is no reason for me to come on here and go blah, blah, blah (insert something about lyrics here), my coast is all that. But get real. You have the nerve to clown No Limit and Cash Money and THEN represent for COR-FUCKING-MEGA???!!! Nigga, are you out of your mind???!!! WHEN, nigga, WHEN has Cormega done anything REMOTELY influential in hip-hop? And what about you reppin Chino XL? Or AZ? Or even the "Poetical Prophets?" And you always overlook Nas and them "Bravehearts" fuckers. Yeah, nigga, that album with Da Bridge 2001 and when he first mentions Bleek and the ROC. If them niggas don't suck toes, then they definitely suck ass. You reppin Nas will always be mad respectable, but Mobb Deep? AZ? Cormega? Bravehearts? Aw naw, hell naw, that's when you done up and done it!
And since we on the subject of East Coast wackness and flunkies, those aren't all the wack sideshows, dummies... Wu Tang Killer Bees? Where the fuck are they from? East Coast? Them niggas suck major dick. And what about Smif and Wessun, Jeru the Damaja, Memphis Bleek, Amil, Drag-On, G-Dep, Shyne, Billy Bathgate, P. Diddy, Ja Rule and a lot more? You love to point out Project Pat, but you sure like to forget about every dickhead "lyricist" that claims NY or Philly.
Kap, it seems that Southerners aren't the only one watching BET and getting there info. Like I said, if you think every Southerner raps about platinum this and that, then it's clear that you're just plain ignorant. It's mad cool if you don't like the Southern style, but to say it's about ice, ice, ice... that's just flat out STUPID. Maybe you get that from the radio, but you don't actually get that from a Southern CD. I actually get my views from CDs, and not just BET or 101 point whatever (W-insert three more letters).
That "past success" stuff I spat was one of the truest things ever about hip-hop and it DEFINITELY includes Escobar. Just cause he got off on Stillmatic, doesn't change the fact that in your eyes, everything he does is gold because of what you heard in 1994. If you gon sit up here and tell me that I Am and Nastradamus weren't some of the shittiest albums on wax, then you're crazy. Some cats on here liked I Am, which I guess I can see, but come on. Be real. I Am's impact was minimal at best. And Nastradamus just made Esco look stupid. But of course you don't know that because you always claim that "Nas never fell off." NEGRO PLEASE! Nas fell off, swam in the mud, made a few mud pies, THEN he decided to get up off the ground and make Stillmatic. And if you really think Stillmatic deserved five mics, then you need to take a step back and look at yourself in the mirror. You're lying to yourself, dun. A big fat one is being told by Kaptivate to The Best. Stillmatic is successful because of the beef with Jay. And you KNOW it. And I remember you sayin half the tracks on Stillmatic are better than Ether. YEAH FUCKING RIGHT! I'll give Nas props on "One Mic" even though I don't like it. Maybe that's tighter. Got Ureself A Gun was wack, and the video EVEN WACKER! Ether is by far better than 95% of the rest of the album.
Kap, you must have been DOWN HEAH too long, because every time you post against Pac, you ALWAYS go "HENNESSY/ENEMIES." You actually think that's all Pac mentions? And son, if you really think Stillmatic or even Illmatic is better than All Eyez On Me... I'm just gonna give you that look again. You know that look. You can't really think that. You just type that on here to rep Nas, but deep down inside, you really don't think Nas has an album better than All Eyez On Me. Do you? You can't. Come on, now. Be real. If so, us Southern Baptists will all ask the Lord to lead you from the dark path you are on or at least give you a diamond studded platinum watch to see with...
I'm Clumsy Smurf and Papa Smurf rolled into one... I drop knowledge! Get it? HA!
I could post this whole damn song, but I'm gonna pick out a few quotes just for Best. I'm sure he'll know the song...
"The don, all the time, with all the shine, you small time, I ball with mine, links, minks, Bentley, it's all with mine... feel like a million dollars, feel me holler, to the max with the Benz and chrome wheeled Impalas..." - NASTY NAS TO ESCOBAR
Throw it like a stallion, you wearin my medallion? Lyrical genius my ASS... And you clown Ludacris?
I'm out like Nas from 1997-2000 because he had fallen off HARD. Peace!

Momus bought me a g&t, he was kabarett selling his plush velour jump suit, he played all the hits, most of them sex ridden and decadent. he wore his analouge baroque wig that made him look like Lord Rochester and David Bowie in a eternal fuckfest . i took notes and will blog it all . Stero Total was amazing punk pop if by punk you meant the cramps and pop you meant francois hardy. david didnt come the motherfucker.
