I care whether they're using a Melania stunt double about as much as I care that Donald used to call reporters claiming to be his own publicist. Believable, sure. In character, yes. Does it matter in terms of whether or not he's a piece of shit? Eh, not really.

It may turn out that there's a stunt Melania. It may turn out that there isn't, and it's just a weird angle or lighting or whatever.

If we press the line that it's the former, and it was the latter, then we look stupid and delusional. It's bait. If we just shake our heads at how fucked up that whole family and scene is, that's low stakes and has the advantage of being obviously true.

I was just about to say, is it really that common? Why would any of them have doubles? If they were in two places at once that would be a giveaway, and if you're making a public appearance that means close up work, which could be a giveaway, too. I think the only reason dictators had/have doubles is in case someone tries to kill them, which is not as much of a concern here.

Call me crazy tin-foil, but there is a part of me that believes that the pigs who killed Walter Wallace Jr. in front of his family yesterday in Philly did so to stir up reaction on the left and scare voters in the suburbs into voting Republican. At this point, I wouldn't put anything past these fuckers.

I just finished watching the PBS Frontline program (a repeat) that tries to give a political biography of Trump and Biden. I must say, though PBS usually is weak-kneed and timid about appearing biased, this documentary pretty clearly laid out the Mary Trump point of view about her uncle Donald, that he's a bully, a racist, a liar and has no interest in anyone or anything except the continuing 'success' of Donald Trump.

Cool! Nice to see it all tied up with a bow and given out for free to the public right now as the voting happens.

Man, if only there was a way to convince his fans that he gives exactly as many fucks (read: zero) about them as he gave about his Omaha fans last night. Like I don't know how more stark an example you could provide, aside from a straight-up Greg Stillson moment.

(Not that I'm discounting the possibility of Trump using the child of a Trump supporter as a human shield at some point in the next week.)
