left him in way too long
― mookieproof, Wednesday, 21 October 2020 02:05 (three years ago) link
Let’s see if they do the same with Kershaw.
― Van Horn Street, Wednesday, 21 October 2020 02:08 (three years ago) link
Roberts can't possibly be insane enough to send Kershaw out, can he? You couldn't have a better situation to help him put this thing to rest. (Even if you end up losing the game, you'd still get something important in return...anyway, beginning to look moot.)
― clemenza, Wednesday, 21 October 2020 02:17 (three years ago) link
Yeah it’s safe to run him out there at this point
― (•̪●) (carne asada), Wednesday, 21 October 2020 02:23 (three years ago) link
Don't get this at all. The difference between Kershaw leaving with a five-run lead after 5 or after 6 is nothing--either way, he pitched great. To give the Rays a chance to score a couple of runs next inning and bring to mind that again is pointless. I know you don't want to burn through the bullpen needlessly, but still.
― clemenza, Wednesday, 21 October 2020 02:24 (three years ago) link
Worked out ok!
― (•̪●) (carne asada), Wednesday, 21 October 2020 02:26 (three years ago) link
It did, it did (6 pitches?). If Turner hadn't made that great play... (announcers pointed out Kershaw gave a rare smile).
― clemenza, Wednesday, 21 October 2020 02:27 (three years ago) link
he looks great, his pitch count was still very low and the dodgers pen only had one day off. i'd be tempted to let him start the 7th
― mookieproof, Wednesday, 21 October 2020 02:29 (three years ago) link
I wouldn't--I'm going on the record!

― (•̪●) (carne asada), Wednesday, 21 October 2020 02:31 (three years ago) link
Yeah no reason to bring Kershaw back.
― Van Horn Street, Wednesday, 21 October 2020 02:33 (three years ago) link
Can't believe he took out Kershaw.

Is Globe Life the ugliest (exterior, at least) park in baseball now? It looks like a giant farm supply warehouse.

Indeed, it’s horrendous.

hey we got a series how about that
daer fox i *might* be interested in a hitter's regular season stats; perhaps more interested in his postseason stats; absolutely don't care about his world series stats in 1.whatever games
sorry this hurts yr bellinger narrative

randy arozarena was/is most likely a better overall player than bader or o'neill, so it was a bummer to see him go in the trade for liberatore.

Joe Suck, it would be ‘Broh-so’.
Speaking of suck, how many runs in the World Series has Baez has allowed in high leverage situations?

Practically the first half-inning I watched--just couldn't get interested--but what a finish. I didn't even realize Arozarena had wiped out till the replay.
