Have we talked about GWAR in this thread? A bunch of friends from elementary and middle school go to the Gwar-B-Que every year. It seems linked to Warped Tour and festival culture generally, but more bro-ey and also, Gwar.

I seem to recall GWAR have played at the Gathering Of The Juggalos - which, for those of you not 'in the know', is a festival to celebrate the music and personal grooming style of clown-based US rap act Insane Clown Posse, aka "ICP".

From time to time, I drive past a business which uses its initials ICP on the sign. I amuse myself more than I should by imagining an office filled with Juggalos working in cubicles.

I recently found myself (sort of) explaining to a kid how magnets work, and had to spray out some imaginary Faygo.

I read an anthropological study of teenage jazz fans in the 30s or 40s once, in a book of essays about music (there was also one about how music in 1988 was terrible and doomed) - have been looking for it since but can't remember anything else about it.
