Roussel for sure. Read it back in my undergrad days after hearing that it was one of Ashbery's faves

Kokoro or Ragged-Trousers.
Angel Island is interesting and depressing: some men are shipwrecked on an island of winged women, spend the rest of the books subjugating and ruining the women's lives, then cut off their wings.
World Set Free is also interesting but minor Wells.
