A few years back I glimpsed a story on the news where the headline was “Bizarre Manspreading Assault” (presumably, per Google, this one), for some reason my brain immediately inserted that phrase into the scansion of Pete Townshend’s “Let My Love Open The Door”, and ever since I’ve found myself intermittently singing “bizarre manspreading assault” under my breath to the melody of the Townshend song entirely unprompted by any reminder of manspreading or “Let My Love Open The Door”’s existence.
(I guess I could’ve posted that in this thread at any point since 2017 but this is the first time since then that an instance of the described phenomenon has lined up closely enough with a thread revive for me to a) Remember the thread’s existence and b) Not go “aww, man, I know this has happened to be before, I just can’t think of how or with what song.”)

I mean, as the threadstarter I had absolutely no hopes for it. Turns out Lindelof did the right thing in the end, which I didn't expect in the slightest. Happy to have expectations undone.

Didn't the Windows icon for the top-level folder used to be 'My Computer'? I swear at some point it changed to 'This PC' without me noticing, because I've only recently caught myself unconsciously saying 'This PC be Warren G' when I open it.

Someone tweeted an alert they’d gotten from Reverb about Sun Ra’s synths, plus their “play now, pay later” payment plans on gear. The tweeter said, “Sun Ra AND predatory lending? Now that’s my kind of email!”

Now I can only hear “predatory lending” to the tune of Sun Ra’s “Interplanetary Music.”

the song’s scenario is basically the current ‘dialogue’ between Trump and America: “You know I don’t believe you when you say that you don’t need me” —“Yeah, whatever. We’re so over now”. #doyousee?

two weeks pass...

My mother-in-law recently regifted me a huge cheese spread that she received as a token of appreciation for some legal work she did for someone. So now, every time I open my fridge, I hear to the tune of Ziggy Marley:

Wisconsin Cheeseman, how long will you last?

This is the inverse phenomenon, but thinking of John Bonham singing from other thread reminded me that I can never, ever hear “Out On The Tiles” w/o the little song he wrote that Page based the riff on:
I’m out on the tiles
I feel a little better, now I’ve had a pint of bitter and
I’m out on the tiles

Most car license plate holders that have the name of the dealership at the bottom I sing to "Werewolves of London" because many do scan:

Honda of Oakland
Audi of Berkeley
Putnam Toyota

though enough of these do fit the Werewolves of London rhythm, my brain ends up hurting when I take note of one that does not fit because I will try and make it fit?
