What does human flesh taste like?
According to Issei Sagawa, who killed and ate a Dutch exchange student, it tastes odourless, is not at all gamey, and is delicious.

ripped from the replies: "gollum is someone sauron can respect even if he isn’t his besty"
and
"the legends of robin hood are set during the reign of richard the lionheart, which only lasted from 1189 to 1199. if robin hood had ever existed—which he did not—he would have spoken norman french to the rich whom he robbed, and an early form of middle english to the poor"
vs
"as far as we know, robin hood hailed from wakefield, so we can assume that he spoke in the west riding dialect of english"
― mark s, Saturday, 9 July 2022 10:04 (two years ago) link
The name "Wakefield" may derive from "Waca's field" – the open land belonging to someone named "Waca"
an ancestor of Timmy Mallet was an early founder. It's actually got pretty mad history has Wakefield going from evidence of bronze age settlements in Lupset to Roman shit to Edward the Confessor had a yard there.
"Why are the pyramids not mentioned in the Old Testament?"
"What is the point of a firing squad if they could just fire at the head once?"
"If the Queen died but then Charles died a minute later, would he still technically have been king?"

going back to Robin Hood/Wakefield stuff. Down the road from me is a small moated island with the remains of an old building that got blown up during the English civil war, when I say remains all that is left is the scorched brick fireplace. But it was lived on since about 900 ad or something and one of the earliest notable dwellers was The Sherriff of Wakefield.

somewhere near what used to be The Three Nuns pub in Huddersfield, just around the corner from the scrapyard where The Yorkshire Ripper once stole some registration plates is one of the many dubious sites of Robin Hood's grave. It's obviously bollox but it used to frequently come up in conversation. I once told an uncle from Dublin about it while we were drinking at the Three Nuns but he was more amused at the juxtaposition of the "buy 2 get 1 free" banner next to the pub sign in the car park.

I asked ChatGPT
Why wasn't Hitler a balrog?Hitler was not a balrog because balrogs are fictional creatures from the fantasy world of Middle-earth, created by J.R.R. Tolkien. Hitler was a real historical figure and the leader of Nazi Germany during World War II. He had no supernatural powers or abilities and was not a mythical creature.James ErringtonWhy wasn't Sauron a balrog?Sauron was not a balrog either because, like Hitler, Sauron is a fictional character from the fantasy world of Middle-earth created by J.R.R. Tolkien. In the story, Sauron was a powerful dark lord and the main antagonist of the "Lord of the Rings" series. Balrogs were powerful demons that served Sauron, but Sauron himself was not a balrog. He was a Maia, a spirit of fire and magic, and took on various forms throughout the story, including that of a giant flaming eye.
