I'm closer to believing no one else is real than not caring about anyone else's feelings. Solipsism is much more socially acceptable than sociopathy, and that matters to me.

he doesn't want people imagining him in a hospital bed so he is doing everything he can to replace that mental illness with these different images, like him tottering around in his suit signing documents or riding in a motorcade or whatever.

even the way he walked to the helicopter--unaccompanied, giving the thumbs up, he wants to seem in control. and you know, there isn't anything psychopathic about this. the problem is that he is putting others in danger.

I've lost my family of origin because of a guy with elements of all the cluster B disorders dropped in 27 years ago. I'm not so keen on dissecting which ones he qualifies for in the Venn diagram. I think Trump is much the same.

I agree with that to a degree (and the same thought occurred to me after I posted), but he supposedly watches just as much CNN as Fox, and being delusional is part of his narcissism; when he went for his little joyride today, I bet part of him wanted to be admired--to be awed by his courage--by even those whom he knows hate him.

I'm going with totally clueless. He's always wanted everyone to adore him but doesn't know how to do it. In his 7th decade of trying he finally stumbled upon being a far right wing agitator. He could have a good deal more followers even he wasn't so fucking clueless about how boasting about your own intelligence, wealth and prowess turns many people off. Likewise, insulting women and ethnicities prob got him some laughs and attaboys in the country club locker room but…

I mean I've known quite a few people who make it pretty easy to deduce that they consider themselves to be world class geniuses but they at least have had enough social sense to not just BLURT IT OUT.
