Right, well I bit the bullt, and registered.

Now what?

Mark G, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 12:47 (twelve years ago) link

Waste lots of time adding applications.

nathalie, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 12:51 (twelve years ago) link

OK.

Maybe that's why it's so quiet here!

Mark G, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 12:53 (twelve years ago) link

and waste some more time deleting them again.

Jon Swift friended me!

Curt1s Stephens, Friday, 13 July 2007 02:01 (twelve years ago) link

is it possible to export facebook contacts to, say, the address book on my mac? it occurred to me that this would be useful, and the same idea seems to have occurred to other people too, some of whom did something about it, for example:

http://wwww.tuaw.com/2007/04/03/facebooksync/

unfortunately, it seems that i'm a month too late:

http://www.fsbsoftware.com/

does anyone know anywhere where i could find this or similar? i tried some obvious torrent sites, but with no success...

toby, Friday, 13 July 2007 16:26 (twelve years ago) link

facebook is now weirding me out. too much school :/

grimly fiendish, Friday, 13 July 2007 21:55 (twelve years ago) link

i got send a friend request quite randomly by an english guy. turns out he was searching for a nz friend and the search engine threw up my name (true? or a line? i dunno). so we got talking and now he wants to take me out for coffee (he lives in my city). but he's an adrenalin junkie and i'm a lazy bitch. maybe he's just trawling the net for potential shags??

Rubyred, Friday, 13 July 2007 22:57 (twelve years ago) link

would that be so bad?

Filey Camp, Saturday, 14 July 2007 00:05 (twelve years ago) link

no.

Rubyred, Saturday, 14 July 2007 00:34 (twelve years ago) link

but he won't be getting a shag from me.

Rubyred, Saturday, 14 July 2007 00:35 (twelve years ago) link

my facebook relationship status is 'complicated'. so hopefully that preempts any unwanted player-moves.

Rubyred, Saturday, 14 July 2007 00:36 (twelve years ago) link

you think so? why? 'complicated' doesnt necessarily suggest that to me

Filey Camp, Saturday, 14 July 2007 06:37 (twelve years ago) link

exactly. complicated relationship vs easy shag.

grimly fiendish, Saturday, 14 July 2007 09:16 (twelve years ago) link

not that i'm saying you're easy :) i just mean, which would most people choose? or think that a potential facebook hook-up might want?

(me: probably the complicated relationship. at least, based on historical example. but hey. i'm just weird.)

grimly fiendish, Saturday, 14 July 2007 09:19 (twelve years ago) link

I don't think I'll ever be joining Facebook, despite having been invited to by one friend recently. Its one online area I don't feel like I belong in for various reasons.

-- Trayce, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 06:53 (3 days ago) Link

Why, because most of the population are young enough to be your children?

ZING! ZOOM-ZOOM-ZOOM!

I kid, Trayce, you know I do.

Mikey Bidness, Saturday, 14 July 2007 09:29 (twelve years ago) link

um, doesnt complicated mean kind of non-monogamous, which means, (hopefully) no strings easy hookup time? cuz theyre going to stick with the other person (otherwise, they'd just be single)

Filey Camp, Saturday, 14 July 2007 11:55 (twelve years ago) link

one of my friends who claims 'complicated' status is having a fucking kid and moving in with the one he's 'complicated' with. i think it's usually a desperate bid to appear interesting.

(jokes bruv)

That one guy that hit it and quit it, Saturday, 14 July 2007 11:58 (twelve years ago) link

it's complicated

RJG, Saturday, 14 July 2007 12:02 (twelve years ago) link

it always is, with some people.

That one guy that hit it and quit it, Saturday, 14 July 2007 12:04 (twelve years ago) link

my 'complicated' status is for a couple of reasons: firstly, because i'm in this more-than-friends thing with someone who lives in another country. we have no exclusive relationship, but he's the shizzle and i have no interest in casual flings with anyone else. secondly, i won't rule out meeting someone and falling for them, but the truth is that i'm totally into someone else, and i don't want to lie about it. at least this way, the subject comes up right away, so the other person knows where they stand.

Rubyred, Saturday, 14 July 2007 12:14 (twelve years ago) link

i think it's usually a desperate bid to appear interesting.

Rubyred, Saturday, 14 July 2007 12:15 (twelve years ago) link

it sure is complicated

Filey Camp, Saturday, 14 July 2007 12:22 (twelve years ago) link

Rubyred, Saturday, 14 July 2007 12:33 (twelve years ago) link

Trayce, Saturday, 14 July 2007 12:49 (twelve years ago) link

Trayce, Saturday, 14 July 2007 12:49 (twelve years ago) link

I've discovered someone that i considered a good friend has signed up and friended lots of my friends but not me. Can't help feeling it's like being back at primary school.

Drooone, Friday, 20 July 2007 00:24 (twelve years ago) link

Why the hell did I just join this thing?

It is already confusing me. Apparently I am a vampire now.

Trayce, Friday, 20 July 2007 00:29 (twelve years ago) link

Nice work, Trayce!

Drooone, Friday, 20 July 2007 00:32 (twelve years ago) link

I have to bite other people! This thing looks like such a damn timesink.

Trayce, Friday, 20 July 2007 00:32 (twelve years ago) link

Yeah I avoid stupid shit like that. and that zombie thing. Come on, that bullshit's for 12 yr olds. I'm a real man, I have fortune cookie app.

Drooone, Friday, 20 July 2007 00:34 (twelve years ago) link

that stuff is weird and annoying. i got made a zombie, but i can't really be bothered with it - it seems kinda pointless. but then i'm worried about hurting people's feelings :(

Rubyredd, Friday, 20 July 2007 00:58 (twelve years ago) link

Yeah I got asked to side with ninjas or some crap and I've already ignored that one geez.

Trayce, Friday, 20 July 2007 01:00 (twelve years ago) link

there seems to be a ton of that stuff - food fights, stupid quizzes etc. at least myspazz doesn't have that kinda lame shit (although it has all sorts of other lame shits).

Rubyredd, Friday, 20 July 2007 01:02 (twelve years ago) link

I like ninjas.

Drooone, Friday, 20 July 2007 01:03 (twelve years ago) link

I'm afraid of zombies.

Facebook's Scrabble application ("Scrabulous") is my new favorite time-waster.

Sara R-C, Friday, 20 July 2007 01:07 (twelve years ago) link

yeah I am getting really annoyed by all the apps - the only ones I've used are graffiti wall and today I added catbook. it lets you post as your cat and that has to be good for at least.. minutes of entertainment.

So it was acceptable

Drooone, Friday, 20 July 2007 01:36 (twelve years ago) link
