In general this is a Bill Buckner situation and that’s life

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 21 September 2020 02:25 (three years ago) link

someone on twitter saying maybe plum was supposed to switch on a bron screen but when there was no screen he tried to anyway

lag∞n, Monday, 21 September 2020 02:26 (three years ago) link

With all that said they got a 36% look for AD and he just made it

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 21 September 2020 02:27 (three years ago) link

yeah I have come around on plumlee, I think the nuggs are obviously going to let millsap walk and with porter presumably starting at the 4 they probably can’t afford to let plumlee walk too? tbh I haven’t thought about it much

k3vin k., Monday, 21 September 2020 02:30 (three years ago) link

they can keep plumlee if he takes a $10M paycut, his contract is absolutely insane

call all destroyer, Monday, 21 September 2020 02:32 (three years ago) link

Jamal Murray was +16 in 44 minutes and somehow the Nuggets lost the other 4 minutes so badly that they didn't win.

Millsap is essentially retired, plumlee still an elite backup. Probably too expensive tho. I think you gotta pick a PF/C in the first round and hope he and Bol can make do

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 21 September 2020 02:40 (three years ago) link

Btw that was amazing damage control by Jokic on that closeout, great awareness

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 21 September 2020 02:42 (three years ago) link

yeah he covered a ton of ground

k3vin k., Monday, 21 September 2020 02:44 (three years ago) link

yeah he did his absolute best to get back

call all destroyer, Monday, 21 September 2020 02:44 (three years ago) link

I’d be a little concerned about the big depth if plumlee left, given MPJ’s history

k3vin k., Monday, 21 September 2020 02:45 (three years ago) link

have no idea what to think about bol other than I’m excited for some regular season stuff. seems like he has some pretty defensive limitations unless he puts on some weight tho

k3vin k., Monday, 21 September 2020 02:47 (three years ago) link

I think Bol is gonna be an olynyk type, the 15 mpg backup who occasionally takes over a game

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 21 September 2020 02:58 (three years ago) link

But he’s pretty unique, I guess Porzingis is the closest comparison in raw talent

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 21 September 2020 02:59 (three years ago) link

It looks like he really can shoot which makes all kinds of things acceptable (also true of olynyk)

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 21 September 2020 03:10 (three years ago) link

That was sad damn. Ruined a truly awesome big honey final stretch.

A definite upgrade but not inspiring at all

Spottie, Tuesday, 22 September 2020 22:08 (three years ago) link

Nuggets are a good team

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 23 September 2020 01:59 (three years ago) link

Donavan hire is a Bulls move very much in character

really enjoying jerami grant as a 4th or 5th starter type of guy

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 23 September 2020 02:43 (three years ago) link

yeah grant has really grown on me. he can do a lot of stuff and he’s a competitor

k3vin k., Wednesday, 23 September 2020 02:47 (three years ago) link

Alley oops are goaltending against the lakers

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 23 September 2020 03:18 (three years ago) link

absolute nightmare start to the 4th starting with that BS call on the davis 3

k3vin k., Wednesday, 23 September 2020 03:19 (three years ago) link

Obv want the lakers to win the series but I’m hoping Denver can withstand this run. I just want more hoops tbh

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 23 September 2020 03:33 (three years ago) link

Yeah I never saw this Denver team going down by 0-3

(•̪●) (carne asada), Wednesday, 23 September 2020 03:34 (three years ago) link

fun game! glad the Lakers made it interesting

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Wednesday, 23 September 2020 03:37 (three years ago) link

Nuggets are one game away from being close to contending!

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 23 September 2020 03:37 (three years ago) link

some very big plays by murray down the stretch kudos to him

lag∞n, Wednesday, 23 September 2020 03:39 (three years ago) link

was it here or on Twitter where someone said Jamal Murray is the Canadian baller Andrew Wiggins was supposed to be?

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Wednesday, 23 September 2020 03:46 (three years ago) link

There’s some stat that has Jerami Grant as the worst player in the playoffs and I’m pretty sure it’s a broken stat. His defense vs Kawhi was really important. Maybe it’s a function of guarding the other team’s best players?

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 23 September 2020 13:32 (three years ago) link

Yeah, that doesn't make much sense intuitively

Nhex, Wednesday, 23 September 2020 13:49 (three years ago) link

catch all stats are always a bit shit mate

lag∞n, Wednesday, 23 September 2020 14:31 (three years ago) link

On a recent episode of the Lowe Post they were talking about how the Nuggets were really hurt by Grant's poor rebounding (zeroing in on him, an ostensible power forward, having 0 boards in Game 2 vs the Lakers). ime a lot of catch all stats tend to over-account for rebounds as much as they under-account for defense. So that could explain it.

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Wednesday, 23 September 2020 16:11 (three years ago) link

yeah, that’s an excellent point.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 23 September 2020 16:47 (three years ago) link

Yeah and his lack of rebounding is accentuated by guarding Kawhi and lebron

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 23 September 2020 17:03 (three years ago) link

can the players hear the crowd noise?

Li'l Brexit (Tracer Hand), Wednesday, 23 September 2020 21:58 (three years ago) link

it seems so?

The Thunder requested the piped-in crowd noise turned up to replicate the volume at Chesapeake Energy Arena in OKC.

Li'l Brexit (Tracer Hand), Wednesday, 23 September 2020 22:04 (three years ago) link

Yeah supposedly it’s loud as hell

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 24 September 2020 00:25 (three years ago) link

it's weird because i've also heard some journalists saying it's much easier to like mentally check out even during great games. maybe the noise is artificial enough in person that you can just ignore it.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 24 September 2020 00:39 (three years ago) link

id be happy to never see or hear mark jackson ever again

micah, Thursday, 24 September 2020 01:36 (three years ago) link
