harbl, Thursday, 2 July 2009 17:59 (fourteen years ago) link

He didn't!

some american borad (ENBB), Thursday, 2 July 2009 18:00 (fourteen years ago) link

a specific one or just "would you like to look like a female golfer???" i just died btw

carpathian florist (roxymuzak), Thursday, 2 July 2009 18:00 (fourteen years ago) link

he was jk
actually i think what he said was "oh so you don't want to look like a female golfer"

harbl, Thursday, 2 July 2009 18:01 (fourteen years ago) link

haircut here too, heatwave means I got it cut a little bit shorter than usual and it has gone vv curly.

going vogue (suzy), Thursday, 2 July 2009 18:34 (fourteen years ago) link

trying not to cut my hair for a while tbh but i could use a bang trim and i've lost the courage to do it myself like i used to.

tehresa, Thursday, 2 July 2009 18:52 (fourteen years ago) link

I think I'm fortunate that my hair is curly in that regard - because it's fairly easy to camouflage errors in bangs trimming ... which I do make.

incomprehensible Kool-Aid swallower (sarahel), Thursday, 2 July 2009 18:55 (fourteen years ago) link

i need a haircut too, guys!

horseshoe, Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:07 (fourteen years ago) link

one thing i have found since i went short with my hair last year is that it is always in danger of becoming a mullet! like, a month will go by after a haircut and there will be incipient mullet-ness. it seems like kind of a scam, short hair.

horseshoe, Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:08 (fourteen years ago) link

You need to get it cut so much more often which makes it that much more $$ and high maintenance in terms of upkeep.

some american borad (ENBB), Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:09 (fourteen years ago) link

Erica, i hope this doesn't creep you out but sometimes when i am having a good hair day (my hair is roughly your hair length) i think, "my hair looks like Erica's today!"

horseshoe, Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:10 (fourteen years ago) link

xp i know, it sucksssssss
my hair is way too thick to let go as much as i do though (mostly to save $$ and because i like getting haircuts only slightly more than i like going to the dr), i should pay more attention to it. i feel so much better now!

harbl, Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:12 (fourteen years ago) link

i am jealous of boys because they can just buzz it themselves and not care

harbl, Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:12 (fourteen years ago) link

xp - mine's really thick, too - in order to keep it relatively short and not look like the Dilbert triangle-hair lady, I shave the back and underneath. I've had basically the same haircut for 18 years.

incomprehensible Kool-Aid swallower (sarahel), Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:14 (fourteen years ago) link

Aw, HS that's really sweet. I'll tell you what though - i'm having a shitty hair SUMMER. We've had so much rain that even though my hair is normally pin straight, the ends keep doing this weird winging out thing because of the humidity. It sucks cause it's not long enough to put in a ponytail so I'm stuck with like . . . oddly feathered looking hair 1/2 the time.

some american borad (ENBB), Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:15 (fourteen years ago) link

xxp thinning shears work well, too.

incomprehensible Kool-Aid swallower (sarahel), Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:15 (fourteen years ago) link

my hair turns into a giant pillow when it's humid, u should see it

harbl, Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:16 (fourteen years ago) link

Damn - I'm glad I don't live where it's humid.

incomprehensible Kool-Aid swallower (sarahel), Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:17 (fourteen years ago) link

Yeah seriously. If the humidity is doing this to MY hair it must be hell for people who actually have wavy/curly hair.

some american borad (ENBB), Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:18 (fourteen years ago) link

now that my hair is somewhat longer i am hoping that living in a humid climate will make it wave better but probably it will just do stupid weird things and frizz.

tehresa, Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:18 (fourteen years ago) link

i look like i am in deep purple when it is humid

If I didn't thin/shave the back - I'd look like the 2nd from the left dude.

I've had mullet-phobia since 1987. That summer, before I started 8th grade, my family took it's every-three-years-or-so vacation to the UK, and while I was there, I got a haircut. It was a mullet. It was a cute haircut for about 2 hours. I spent a couple years growing it out. Since then, I've always cut my hair long in front and shorter in back to avoid even the remotest possibility of mullet.

My cousin went to Europe a few summers back, and she and the two or three others she was travelling with all got haircuts - they all got mullet-ed except for her, but she had to be extremely firm about it.

Is it some anti-foreigner thing, or do European hairdressers give mullets to everyone?

incomprehensible Kool-Aid swallower (sarahel), Thursday, 2 July 2009 21:24 (fourteen years ago) link

Fashion mullets were really big in the UK a few years back actually.

some american borad (ENBB), Thursday, 2 July 2009 21:26 (fourteen years ago) link

my sister actually really rocked a bowie mullet ~2004

tehresa, Thursday, 2 July 2009 21:28 (fourteen years ago) link

one of my good female friends had a subtle mullet a couple years ago ... I felt like we weren't close enough at the time for me to bring up its essential mullet nature.

incomprehensible Kool-Aid swallower (sarahel), Thursday, 2 July 2009 21:30 (fourteen years ago) link

carpathian florist (roxymuzak), Thursday, 2 July 2009 21:31 (fourteen years ago) link
