xp i think it's less about homecourt and more about the fact that any crowd faced with this ridiculous proliferation of egregious calls and nonstop flagrants and techs would necessarily start booing and screaming and chanting and changing the way the refs call the game. They're human! Scream at them long enough and they start to get distracted and more willing to allow the players to play rather than disrupt the flow. In the bubble, you're getting these end of close game clusterfuck situations with multiple questionable calls compounding and it feels like the refs more than the players are driving the game and setting the pace. It's not been preferable!

also, get nurse off the actual court please; that's GOT to be a tech sooner or later.

ok, yeah, completely with you on all of those points. the refs are overofficiating, badly. replay is a disaster. and i think nurse is the best coach in the nba but i have always felt that any coach who tries to affect live action (which he did) should be thrown out of the game.

don’t really understand why they release the last 2 minute reports to the public. if they are striving for some sort of transparency they could just release them to the teams but it mainly just provides fuel for people to complain about officiating for longer. maybe that kind of engagement is the point lol

its transparency with the public, but the thing that would be actually interesting is releasing the report for the whole game

everyone otm about these reviews tho. its out of control.

the challenges are real bad too, they just immediately get game theoried to 'save this to use on only a 3pt foul'

they shd just give each team 3 challenges and thats it the refs cant review anything on their own except last two mins of the game

not enough uninterrupted gameplay/"uptime" has always been a leading criticism of the game and all this stuff just makes it worse

yeah i mean people hate bad calls but the thing thatll make them stop watching is the game being unwatchable

none of these measures even get rid of bad calls though, they just give the league a little more plausible deniability

just review mostly everything during tv timeouts
