Autechre: Classic or Dud?

hey dog latin would you characterise "different" as "interesting new take" or "what the actual fuck this can't be the new record"? asking for a friend

I've heard whispers that this has leaked but as I treat new Ae albums like a Latin Mass on Christmas Day and also because I fear potential fakery, I will be waiting patiently (but I certainly don't mind a few spoilers here, should there be any!)

I'm absolutely amazed that after all these years no other acts do this. Didn't Madonna leak a fake once? I'm old enough to remember De La Soul putting donkey noises on advances of "Buhloone Mindstate." But really any act, with literally minimal effort, could leak out some stupid thing with the same track list as the album, just to throw people off and make them wait for the real thing.

thought the fake leak of Daft Punk's Human After All was pretty clever up until it was revealed that it was the actual album

there was a band that actually did record an entire fake version of an album for this purpose but I can't remember who it was. I'm gonna say, I dunno...Ben Folds

the CD (which comes with a download) is actually more expensive than just the download, LOL

Hoping to snag both records in person somewhere locally when they come out. Pre-order shipping prices just for this one is a bit steep. Limited edition shit like the NTS box set is one thing, though.

To be clear this is just a vinyl compilation of the three CD/DVD releases from 2003-11, not new material. I found them pretty boring at the time.

Yeah I bought the CDs & listened to them twice at most. Then when I sold my whole collection except for the autechre ones, they went too.

I have been waiting for this for a very very very long time

so one cool thing when you keep listening to the elseq-NTS-AE_LIVE thing is recognizing one melody or pattern manifest itself in another track. for example I just noticed that "7th slip" uses the melody from "chimer 1-5-1" though it's such a different sound it escaped me the first 20 listens

FYI just got notification that the LP5 vinyl reissue has been delayed

looking on Discogs & WATMM a few people have had this issue. one said "Rae" (B1) had that issue too so maybe some of the records got warped. I wonder if adjusting your tonearm weight would work.

just out of curiosity, does it skip the whole way or does it start when the drums kick in?
