Would you say that burrito defined a generation?

pomenitul, Wednesday, 2 September 2020 23:33 (three years ago) link

i think the chipotle sauce had a splash of heavy cream in it and i've been avoiding that lately

the late great, Wednesday, 2 September 2020 23:45 (three years ago) link

I feel like we need ILX poster "the burrito that defined a generation" to weigh in here, perhaps they are offended by the suggestion that their only value is delicious sustenance when in fact they can sometimes define an entire generation.

I was thinking about burritos this week, I feel the call

sleeve, Wednesday, 2 September 2020 23:48 (three years ago) link

the best california burritos are pretty good, but I think I like regular rice and bean burritos (with choice of meat and cheese) better

Dan S, Thursday, 3 September 2020 00:38 (three years ago) link

this here fella is still lamenting the retirement of the celebrated Taco Bell® 7-Layer™, a food item generally regarded among my peers as having contributed significantly to the cultural zeitgeist

my nearest neighborhood shop makes a Costeño (grilled tilapia, mushrooms, cabbage, poblanos, corn, and sour cream) and I've been liking that lately when I feel like getting out of my typical California or Carne Asada comfort zone, cause I'm a basic bro who needs to bureet down on the reg

the burrito that defined a generation, Thursday, 3 September 2020 01:03 (three years ago) link

btw, like all mariscos burritos, the Costeño comes with a lime wedge wrapped up within the wrapper, which is always cute af

the burrito that defined a generation, Thursday, 3 September 2020 01:04 (three years ago) link

and the wrapper should always be yellow. some posers down the street wrap theirs in this bullshit blue & white checker pattern wrapper, like what the hell is this a friggin Rally's? go yellow or go home

the burrito that defined a generation, Thursday, 3 September 2020 01:06 (three years ago) link

holy shit, there's a burrito thread?!

alpine static, Thursday, 3 September 2020 01:08 (three years ago) link

i would eat three or four a week if left completely to my own devices (i.e. if i were single)

alpine static, Thursday, 3 September 2020 01:10 (three years ago) link

I like the idea of a Costeño burrito

Dan S, Thursday, 3 September 2020 01:10 (three years ago) link

late great's looks legit though! weak white wrapper notwithstanding

the burrito that defined a generation, Thursday, 3 September 2020 01:10 (three years ago) link

agreed ^^

alpine static, Thursday, 3 September 2020 01:16 (three years ago) link

and that Diet Coke looks sufficiently coooold

alpine static, Thursday, 3 September 2020 01:17 (three years ago) link

it looks like any other burrito to me

Dan S, Thursday, 3 September 2020 01:18 (three years ago) link

sounds like a personal problem

the burrito that defined a generation, Thursday, 3 September 2020 01:21 (three years ago) link

california burritos are the worst

bogo jumbo boba (Sufjan Grafton), Thursday, 3 September 2020 01:28 (three years ago) link

the fries are usually reheated and gross

bogo jumbo boba (Sufjan Grafton), Thursday, 3 September 2020 01:31 (three years ago) link

reheated not in a fryer, that is

bogo jumbo boba (Sufjan Grafton), Thursday, 3 September 2020 01:31 (three years ago) link

Everyone has a different favorite and mine keeps changing. My current preference is for carnitas, refried beans, rice, lots of cheese, and tomatillo salsa, supplemented with pickled jalapeno slices and extra green salsa

Dan S, Thursday, 3 September 2020 01:32 (three years ago) link

Are you me?

This is a good thread btw. Because burritos are good.

pomenitul, Thursday, 3 September 2020 01:33 (three years ago) link

I made my own roasted tomatillo salsa last week, it was so good that I ate it up right away, will have to make it again

Dan S, Thursday, 3 September 2020 01:41 (three years ago) link

sitting in a park eating a burrito thanks to you jerks. it's pretty good.

lukas, Thursday, 3 September 2020 01:45 (three years ago) link

I ate a pizza.

I AM NOT A SHEEP

Neanderthal, Thursday, 3 September 2020 03:26 (three years ago) link

Ur burritos wear masks

Neanderthal, Thursday, 3 September 2020 03:26 (three years ago) link

Anyway, only one ILX poster has the legitimacy required to weigh in on this.

peace, man, Thursday, 3 September 2020 11:22 (three years ago) link

today i found myself sitting at my makeshift desk (a card table in the corner of a bedroom), tired and hot and stressed and wishing a hole would open up in the ceiling and that a burrito would drop into my lap.

this is a true story.

alpine static, Friday, 4 September 2020 06:31 (three years ago) link

If a hole appeared inside your roof
And a burrito fell through it, like POOF!
And landed on your lap real hard
You'd notice it

If after you had ate your snack
You felt a violent need to crap
"I really hope it's just a fart!"
You'd notice it

Woke up craving a breakfast burrito. Out of potatoes. Found these bad boys in the freezer. Let’s do it. pic.twitter.com/Y8unL6DcpL

wish I had something even that 'appetizing' in my freezer atm

Neanderthal, Wednesday, 16 September 2020 03:30 (three years ago) link

lol he's making a break burrito with Friday's apps

Neanderthal, Wednesday, 16 September 2020 03:31 (three years ago) link

kind of annoying when you try a new place and your burrito comes with sauce and cheese all over the outside instead of wrapped up in foil so you can eat it with your hands

one of my favorite burritos is covered in a thin tomato sauce

bogo jumbo boba (Sufjan Grafton), Monday, 28 September 2020 02:39 (three years ago) link

0 burritos this week
1 chimi eaten this week
it was not a quality chimi
but it was an ok chimi
and not a burrito
good night

LaRusso Auto (Neanderthal), Monday, 28 September 2020 04:03 (three years ago) link

I eat 1 or 2 burritos per year. I have calculated that this amounts to 0.02876704447 of a burrito per week.
