just reacting to the fact that it's his first-ever video and his top comment is a few fire emojis from marshmello

nothing wrong with being an industry plant, usually just means that someone found the artist early and worked behind the scenes to develop the music before releasing it into the wild. as opposed to the regular rapper instinct to drop everything immediately.

he's signed w/ marshmello's manager which i'm sure explains the co-signs & playlisting on the first ever release. sort of the definition of an industry plant but also doesn't mean the music can't be good

So-called jazz rap is almost never jazzy enough for my ears in that it tends to minimize the improv part of the equation but what I've heard so far of this Boldy James / Sterling Toles collab gives the lie to that assumption. Not worth more than a 7.7 according to p4k tho.
