no matter how many times/ways prada, balenciaga, or whoever does their high fashion versions of kix, I can't get past the fact that they are prada or balenciaga or whatever and that makes them decidedly not kix in my mind

I mean they're going to present way better than a wal-mart shoe in person (even without the logo) because the materials and construction are going to be much better, but it's still just "let's hijack design elements from some other sneakers and slap a prada label on it whoa have you heard of postmodernism?" in a way that feels really played out

idk i think that design looks pretty unique to me even if i recognize elements of it from other places

Are these bearable? I have high arches, supinate badly, and need an athletic shoe that doesn't look like the 80s vomited on it. But all sneakers look basically awful to me so I can't tell.

They seem fine. The little rainbow bar is a little bit random but it's not very intrusive. I am a fan of asics for running, I think they make good value running shoes (as someone who is only a casual runner, can't speak to the high performance crowd). I have Asics trail running shoes and they are kind of ugly but I don't really care. Some Asics are nicer but these were like $55.

They look ideal for convalescent home / psych ward staff

I went to a specialized running shoe store and talked with v knowledgeable staff, tried their recs and ended up in a pair of asics which are serving me just fine; my issue is cranky knee that needs some cushion for rehabbing purposes.

But yeah why this stuff cost so much?
