I feel like there's sort of a subgenre of comeback singles by 70s rock guys that feature 'social commentary' over overproduced session-dude rock-by-numbers ('bluesy' riff mandatory) like this, "Get Over It", ELP's "Black Moon" (maybe my favourite of these??), Roger Waters's "What God Wants, p. 1".

Sometimes it seems like a good shortcut to success in music these days is just to be really really obnoxious on purpose. Not that obnoxiousness guarantees success, but it seems like it can only help you.
