i think my favorite thing about this record is the fu-schnickens collab, it's just so weird it kinda works

it's really dope! and Shaq doesn't have to do much but keep the train coasting to the finish line. and the song works just fine without his verse too lol.
lead me years later to acquire both Fu Schnick albums, which are fun.
I can do Chip-Fu's verse but it helps to have a hype man to let you breathe.

that's impressive !
just looking now and diamond d produced two tracks on "nervous breakdown" (one of which is "sneakin up on ya" — a boom bap CLASSIC)

which reminds me that i've been meaning to make a diamond d mixtape but dropped the ball. maybe time to reboot that. do a series, call it MXTP and charge $15 / month, any interest ?

only if we get to suggest what vibes we like and then u curate and send us a mixtape based on something mildly tangential to that vibe we said we liked!
also can DJ Drama scream all over each track?

yes but only for the folks whose favorite rock duo is hall & oates

bj—
you gotta put the ras kass 'soul on ice' remix and 'the hiatus' remix on your diamond d playlist! there's also an outkast remix he did that's pretty good, too.

also, something funny about shaq's third album, you can't stop the reign: it was the first thing to have featured rakim in many years at that point. think about all the potential guest appearances that rakim missed in those years. it's crazy that the person to have brought rakim out of (unofficial) retirement was fucken shaq of all people. i imagine shaq spent a lot of money on that verse.

wasn't Biggie on one of the songs too?

one thing that I really liked about Shaq's albums is he took the v important step of reminding us that he played basketball
