nothing is weird these days but Harrogate Town in the football league? hmm truly the age of Toryism!

calzino, Sunday, 2 August 2020 20:29 (three years ago) link

Dover let all their players go. Sounds terminal.

Mud... jam... failure (aldo), Tuesday, 4 August 2020 19:21 (three years ago) link

That was clever!

Not from Raya, obvs.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Tuesday, 4 August 2020 20:56 (three years ago) link

Aw. Even watching the text commentary has been a chore

À la recherche du scamps perdu (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 4 August 2020 21:00 (three years ago) link

It has been a poor match. Fulham have been slightly better but there’s not much in it.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Tuesday, 4 August 2020 21:02 (three years ago) link

Remarkable from Joe Bryan. One goal since 2018, two tonight.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Tuesday, 4 August 2020 21:14 (three years ago) link

Feel for Brentford as they’ve been so good this season and I can’t imagine the front three will still be there when the next starts.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Tuesday, 4 August 2020 21:15 (three years ago) link

I guess having choked twice in the run-in Brentford shd've expected this

À la recherche du scamps perdu (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 4 August 2020 21:16 (three years ago) link

Won't be the first time they've had to rebuild tho

À la recherche du scamps perdu (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 4 August 2020 21:17 (three years ago) link

Poor old Brentford, losing playoffs sucks. I hope they make an absolute mint selling Ollie W.

Tim, Tuesday, 4 August 2020 21:29 (three years ago) link

Brentford won't win the playoffs (aeternum)

In all seriousness, I hope Reading FC go out of business for this pic.twitter.com/kS967KWN6p

i hope Bury FC are eradicated from the face of the earth and never play a game of football again

A Short Film About Scampoes (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 27 August 2020 16:30 (three years ago) link

Me too, though obviously I'd be happy with an AFC Bury making their way back to Gigg Lane in the fullness.

Tim, Thursday, 27 August 2020 16:34 (three years ago) link

aye i always feel for fans when owners are douchebags, but then that's almost all owners at some point

A Short Film About Scampoes (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 27 August 2020 16:35 (three years ago) link

It is, and I very much hope they all go bust.

Tim, Thursday, 27 August 2020 16:54 (three years ago) link

in only slightly related news I Danny "arse carbuncle" Boyle goes bust as well! But I do have a soft spot for Gigg Lane.

Highlight of the night so far goes to the lad that walked passed these ketchup bottles and thought it was hand santiser 😂🤦🏼‍♂️

Macclesfield bustness confirmed this morning. Odd since they've been signing players all week, including stealing Jason Cowley - who we've had as a trialist for about a month - by offering him loads of cash.

Mud... jam... failure (aldo), Wednesday, 16 September 2020 11:19 (three years ago) link

yeah, it's a grim start to the season, and worse to come probably

这是我的显示名称 (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Wednesday, 16 September 2020 16:58 (three years ago) link

it's a shambles that they were still signing players with £500k of short term bills they couldn't pay and nearly £5m worth of debt hanging over them. I once said to my brother I hope this tinpot pub-team goes bust after they did us 4-0, but honest, I didn't mean it!

calzino, Wednesday, 16 September 2020 21:05 (three years ago) link

for my freebet treble I've got Blackburn who are 3-0 up and Reading who are 0-0 but a Barnsley player has seen red and then I've got Town ...sigh

calzino, Saturday, 19 September 2020 15:11 (three years ago) link

now Blackburn 4-0 up and Reading 2-0 up against 9 men Barnsley. fucking typical why did I put Town on the treble after a lifetime of them knacking up my bets.

calzino, Saturday, 19 September 2020 15:46 (three years ago) link

5-0!

calzino, Saturday, 19 September 2020 15:46 (three years ago) link

you sign Naby Sarr and don't put him in your squad? deserve all you get

imago, Saturday, 19 September 2020 17:44 (three years ago) link

I forgot we'd even signed him! Although last time he was on the pitch with the Town squad he did give the ball to Grant for his first goal!

calzino, Saturday, 19 September 2020 19:01 (three years ago) link

He'll definitely get a chance now, we just lost Schindler and Toffolo to injuries today.

that was Deji Oshilaja!

imago, Saturday, 19 September 2020 19:41 (three years ago) link

you'll have forgotten Schindler and Toffolo's names by the end of Sarr's first game

imago, Saturday, 19 September 2020 19:41 (three years ago) link

I'm not really that downhearted at how shit we are rn. It doesn't help our only striker Koroma is L1 standard and not even any good at that level. This Grant transfer saga (which will no doubt also include a nice little windfall for Charlton) going on forever is killing us, just tip up the cash Baggies, or boing boing fuck off! Oh we just signed a young central midfielder from Ajax, there is another positive.

calzino, Saturday, 19 September 2020 19:50 (three years ago) link

a windfall that might just pay our wages while the crook who doesn't even own us holds us to ransom in the courts

imago, Saturday, 19 September 2020 19:55 (three years ago) link

we've got a useless owner who is clearly out of his depth, but I do suspect the blundering oaf is doing his best and it just hasn't been good enough so far. But at least he is a fan of the club and not some asset stripper who got their fingers burned trying to make a quick buck out of a club and playing hardball to get some cash back.

calzino, Saturday, 19 September 2020 20:01 (three years ago) link

the fact that he was willing to pay off those repugnant Cowley brothers rather than persist with them after realising the dreadful mistake he had made shows at least he'll sometimes put the good of the club over money.

calzino, Saturday, 19 September 2020 20:03 (three years ago) link

our last chairman made sure he grasped back any of the prem money legacy to cover the "debt" owed to him. Even when we'd got promoted to the prem I always maintained he was a total shit.

calzino, Saturday, 19 September 2020 20:12 (three years ago) link

The Leyton Orient thing is pretty alarming. The majority of the first team tested positive for COVID but the only reason anyone found out is because Spurs paid for the tests. Their chairman's pointing out that it's not fair to make Orient players self-isolate, and to award Spurs the win, as other teams could be in the same situation but not have to be tested.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Wednesday, 23 September 2020 09:02 (three years ago) link

I'm behind on Leyton Orient ownership, thought it was still Barry Hearn. It's another arsehole now - some Brit from a US corporate background. Who'd have thought he'd be capable of such unscrupulous practises!

calzino, Wednesday, 23 September 2020 09:20 (three years ago) link

🤯 The club shop has done over £20k of sales since yesterday morning!

that Forest manager will be gone by tomorrow, he's pissed away a fortune and if we weren't so "blessed" with players that literally can't even score a simple tap in or get a one on one on target and encumbered with a £16m star striker we can't even play, then these turkeys would have lost at least 3-0 tonight. As if they started with Grabban on the bench, manager hasn't got a clue what he is doing.

calzino, Friday, 25 September 2020 20:56 (three years ago) link

An agreement has been reached for Barnsley manager Gerhard Struber to join New York Red Bulls on a three-year contract. A reported €2m (£1.8m) fee has been arranged to bring Struber to America.

Danny Cowley was Huddersfield Town manager until he was unceremoniously sacked a couple of days after guiding Town to Championship safety last July. Now he’s doing corporate gigs for ScrewFix Direct.

Cowley answered some heavily curated questions taken from fans on Twitter and then played a couple of slightly cringe-inducing games involving the ScrewFix catalogue, some ping pong balls and mugs.

it looks like charmless bellowing PE teacher Danny is discovering he isn't quite the hot property he thought he was and he has take whatever gigs he can get these days.

calzino, Friday, 2 October 2020 14:33 (three years ago) link
