Red and pink. I like to have options.

options are HAWT!

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 19 December 2003 19:58 (twenty years ago) link

Exactly!

luna (luna.c), Friday, 19 December 2003 19:58 (twenty years ago) link

I have showered and changed now - into black yoga pants with white stripes down the sides (nb: I am not planning to do any yoga right now) and a black tank top-y thing.

I smell gooooooooooooood.

luna (luna.c), Friday, 19 December 2003 20:13 (twenty years ago) link

I smell donut-y.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 19 December 2003 20:28 (twenty years ago) link

Donut-y is good, too.

luna (luna.c), Friday, 19 December 2003 20:30 (twenty years ago) link

I think I look good today though. I slept good last night and shaved this morning and put gel in my hair (even though gel is the new hairspray, but I have a big bottle to go through before I move on to hair paste, which is the new gel).

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 19 December 2003 20:39 (twenty years ago) link

This seems like as good a place as any to annouce that I'm posting from my grandparent's house, my grandpa and Lukas have both been napping for almost 2 hours, in which time I've drank 3 beers and eaten roughly an entire pound of mixed nuts, I'm still tripping my nutsak in a frnzy of dikplay over the "Nedmobile" thread, am sad that I won't see tonight someone I have very much enjoyed being around a great deal lately, am quite loving watching the winter wonderland build up out the window here, and am thoroughly looking forward to a recording session tonight with my new-yet-about-to-be-broke-up-by-the-end-of-the-month band tonight and funtacularity to follow later in the evening.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 19 December 2003 20:42 (twenty years ago) link

Rock on, funk soul bruthah.

luna (luna.c), Friday, 19 December 2003 20:47 (twenty years ago) link

Also: I understand now all the "but I'm on a dial-up!" complaints.

Also also: nuh uh, you rock on.

Also also also: make that 4 beers.

Also infinity: I hate Dragontales. I thought my son had better taste than this.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 19 December 2003 20:52 (twenty years ago) link

Well, I'm gone for the wknd.
I just saw my replacement laughing with my old editor, discussing assignments that should have been mine. Generally getting along with him a million times better than I ever did. I wish I hadn't quit. But I can hold my head high.
Plus I think she's a total kiss-ass. Cuz she used to be really nice to me, and then as soon as she got my beat (which she had wanted) she stopped even acknowledging me. Which is completely sketchy and makes me hate her.
Part of it is jealousy. Natch. But I know that the work I did was of a calibre this podunk will never see again. Boo hoo, I didn't make friends with a bunch of slime balls. Yeah yeah humph!
And now I can concentrate on more important things.

A pissy start to the wkend.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 19 December 2003 20:52 (twenty years ago) link

Want me to come bitch slap her for you? (The wearing of leather and spike heeled boots when I do is negotiable)

luna (luna.c), Friday, 19 December 2003 20:56 (twenty years ago) link

Dragontales sucks ass - I feel your pain.

luna (luna.c), Friday, 19 December 2003 20:57 (twenty years ago) link

Do you ever feel like maybe you need a personal rewind/delete function?

luna (luna.c), Friday, 19 December 2003 20:57 (twenty years ago) link

or volume control?

El Santo Claus (Kingfish), Friday, 19 December 2003 21:01 (twenty years ago) link

Nah, I have the volume under control, but the other...

luna (luna.c), Friday, 19 December 2003 21:03 (twenty years ago) link

Every day, luna.

JuliaA (j_bdules), Friday, 19 December 2003 21:57 (twenty years ago) link

We should work on that, Jules - we could be billionaires!

luna (luna.c), Friday, 19 December 2003 21:58 (twenty years ago) link

And then we could rewind time and be billionaires much earlier! Like...now!

Dammit. Where's my masseuse? Why is this place in such squalor?

JuliaA (j_bdules), Friday, 19 December 2003 22:06 (twenty years ago) link

I like the way you think.

luna (luna.c), Friday, 19 December 2003 22:10 (twenty years ago) link

Where's my cabana boy? I need someone to feed me truffles. And I want a drink.

*Blinks, looks around*...dammit.

JuliaA (j_bdules), Friday, 19 December 2003 22:16 (twenty years ago) link

Viva La Sam (thatgirl), Saturday, 20 December 2003 00:40 (twenty years ago) link

Hey you lot, just swung by to see what's up & it seems all is not well on ilx & I have only looked at this thread so far! *sigh* Anyways I hope you are all well & have happy holidays.xxxx
(p.s. Nick - i didn't get an email from you! :-( )

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Saturday, 20 December 2003 15:49 (twenty years ago) link

I'm in a bad mood because British Telecom have yet again changed my account without telling me, and without any explanation when I called them, so my normal internet connection is unavailable, and I'm on a pay-per-minute deal. I can't get at or send my email, nor get into AIM. So I just dropped in to mention it in the event that anyone might be missing me (you never know!). I'm being given a month of all-day free connection as compensation, which I'll enjoy over Xmas, but I'm pissed off today.

I'm also feeling ill - a nasty cough, a sore throat and I'm shivery. I don't suppose this is entirely BT's fault.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 20 December 2003 18:52 (twenty years ago) link

Bloody hell, it's still only partly sorted - I believe I'm connecting without paying per minute, and I have downloaded my email successfully, but I still can't get on to AIM, and there was someone I really wanted to talk to too, if they happened to be around.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Sunday, 21 December 2003 00:51 (twenty years ago) link

How annoying, Martin! Hopefully it'll all be fixed soon.

As for me - I've finished most of my Christmas shopping this afternoon, going to the office party tonight, and if I could get rid of this headache, I'd feel a lot better. Meanwhile, I sold my car this morning (*crying*) and am looking for a newer one to buy, but rented one today because the one I've been driving is in the shop. It's a good little car (the rental) but is the most awful color of sage green - who would BUY that? Ick.

Renters can't be choosers, however.

Hope you're all doing well, and an extra cockpunch to British Telecom.

luna (luna.c), Sunday, 21 December 2003 01:24 (twenty years ago) link

Good morning, TITTytWISers.

My boss called in this morning and said he didn't really see any need for me to come in tomorrow! So, at around 11 we're going to an early lunch and then I never have to come back to this office again.

YAY!

We (ie: NA & I) saw LOTR yesterday and that movie was intense. I guess it was especially intense because we were both still a bit hungover from the party Saturday night.

It was a great time. A bunch of people wrote on our boxes, so now we can find our Weed, Life Size Dildo Doll, and the Cats, among other things.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 22 December 2003 14:34 (twenty years ago) link

(and I obviously meant TITtyTWISters)

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 22 December 2003 14:35 (twenty years ago) link

hello my lovely! How was the party? Rocking I hope!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 22 December 2003 15:11 (twenty years ago) link

I hate it when I have to sign birthday cards for people in the office who HAVE NEVER signed a card for me. I've never received a card in the 30 months I've worked here. BOOO on other people being more liked than me!

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 22 December 2003 15:14 (twenty years ago) link

If I don't like someone & they have never bothered to speak to me at work, then I don't bother signing their name (in leaving cards).

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 22 December 2003 15:16 (twenty years ago) link

The party was GREAT, pink. Lots of loud music and drink and good friends.

It is going to be ok, Huck. Who cares? Nobody got me anything for my birthday at work, not even a card. There always has to be that one person who initiates it - goes out, gets a card, forces everyone at gunpoint to sign it. And then, as you might have read here, I basically forced my boss to get me something like a week after my birthday.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 22 December 2003 15:25 (twenty years ago) link

I know, I just wanted to gripe about it before I shrugged it off. I'm very small and petty like that.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 22 December 2003 15:27 (twenty years ago) link

Well that's good to hear sarah!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 22 December 2003 15:29 (twenty years ago) link

Today is my last day.

Oh yeah, I think I forgot to tell you guys... There's this one lady who interviewed who went on and on about how her current boss is mean to her and makes her cry. That's why she was looking for a new job. Then she asked me, "Ok, honestly, what is it like working for him? I don't want to jump from the frying pan into the fire, you know." I told her like it is. Then my boss was going to offer her the job, but she backed out. Good for her. The one he ended up hiring is a real tough cookie. She'll set him straight.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 22 December 2003 15:30 (twenty years ago) link

By what you have said in the past, i think a 'tough cookie' is what is needed!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 22 December 2003 15:31 (twenty years ago) link

Heh heh. Rah for Sarah!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 22 December 2003 15:32 (twenty years ago) link

i spent *all day* doing this:

http://homepage.mac.com/radio_free_albemuth/PhotoAlbum21.html

unpacking boxes, making a huge mess in order to put things in some kind of order; now i have a temporarily set-up room in the new place. the only cheerful thing about it are my Powerpuffs, which nestled nicely on the built-in shelf.

i haven't painted the walls yet, tomorrow is Xmas eve and i have to go to the hardware store, grocery shopping, wrap more presents, all before 1pm. Arrgghh why am i still awake??!!!

Orbit (Orbit), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 09:54 (twenty years ago) link

I wondered what happened to this thread? In it's temporary absence I was forced to update my blog.

Sarah congrats on everything wrapping well for you guys.

Viva La Sam (thatgirl), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 09:57 (twenty years ago) link

i get out of work 2 hours early! gee thanks!

El Santo Claus (Kingfish), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 19:15 (twenty years ago) link

Yo Tep, where you at?
Holla back.

oops (Oops), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 19:17 (twenty years ago) link

For some reason, not that many people seem to be online at 9:00 PM on xmas eve. Hmmm. My family is watching some stupid romantic comedy, so I'm holed up in the freezing cold basement playing on the computer. Maybe I should look for a job. Hmmm.

NA (Nick A.), Thursday, 25 December 2003 02:05 (twenty years ago) link

(oops, Tep is apparently done with ILX)

NA (Nick A.), Friday, 26 December 2003 02:53 (twenty years ago) link

i'm forced to be on my desktop due to having left my laptop cord at school. Haven't used this machine in ages. Proof: Opened Photoshop and in the recent documents list was this old-ass photo of Tom that he had me resize once:

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-11/510914/tom.gif

he looks like a skater!

Viva La Sam (thatgirl), Friday, 26 December 2003 03:58 (twenty years ago) link

Hey kiddos! Hope all my fave ilxors are doing ok. Hope yuo all had a good Christmas. We found out 2 days before Christmas that someone has pulled out of our housing chain, so now I am not sure what will happen with the house. If it all falls through that is pretty much our chance of becoming houseowners gone.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 29 December 2003 10:14 (twenty years ago) link

Hey chaps,

Pinky, that's terrible - hope it doesn't prove to be the case.

I'm back in work today, which is okay I guess, though I'd rather be at home snuggling with muh honey. Especially as it is the most UGLY day outside - heavy rain and a biting cold wind. Welcome to 2004 (almost).

As ever, I'm away from the internet most of the day, so emails to mark at casar0tt0 dot uk dot com (replace 0s with os) very very very welcome, especially as I forgot to bring in any CDS :(

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 29 December 2003 10:24 (twenty years ago) link

Dude, it sucks being back at work doesn't it?! My hotmail seems to be playing up today, boo!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 29 December 2003 10:26 (twenty years ago) link

haven't been around much lately, my wifes grandfather did die and its been a rough christmas. but a good one in some ways.

Chris 'Knuckle Deep' V. (Chris V), Monday, 29 December 2003 15:56 (twenty years ago) link

Awww Chris. *hugs*

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 29 December 2003 15:58 (twenty years ago) link

Hey Poops. I'm waiting for a grandmother to die at the moment (worst case scenario = 2 grandmothers on the way out) and it's not fun. My dad was very subdued all Christmas - all he can do is wait for the inevitable phone call. She's in Italy so he can't even be by her bedside. Anyway, sympathy and manly hugs from me too.
