i'm so glad i got the memo that being a music writer would be really dumb early on. that and i would suck at it. now i get to suck at a state job with benefits :) maybe some day when covid is over i'll have a few moments of fun djing at run-down gay bars - my dream.

i miss dj-ing at dive bars ... after doing it a few times, I realized why it was so popular among former musicians, promoters, and venue managers -- you just show up about fifteen minutes ahead of time, don't have to haul a shit-ton of gear, and don't have to bring in that many people or really clean up afterwards
