We're in Western Nassau County and for 1-2 hours this was almost as scary as Sandy. Lost power for about 5 hours and trees down everywhere. One fell right between two neighbors houses, grazing one slightly.

Wow, that's scary. In our part of Brooklyn it was just trees shaking everywhere and about an hour of really serious rain - looking down at my landlady's backyard we could see tree leaves all over the place, but only one of the two dozen potted plants was downed.

big ol chunk of tree blocking my street in queens for about half an hour until fdny rolled up and dismembered it with a chainsaw in about 90 seconds
