almost all of these have at least one song I love but '95 is pretty dire.

had to check to see which 1990 smash titled "hold on" it was -- it was wilson phillips's. fun fact: en vogue's same-titled hit was ranked #6 that week.

2000 for me

1965, easily. 1985 is almost good, but too uneven. Duran Duran must have been unstoppable at that point for their forgettable 007 theme to chart that high. The 1975 and 1980 lineups are surprisingly poor; I can only assume that "Coming Up" owes its chart-topping to cocaine.

I only recognize one title ("Blinding Lights") from the current year.

I'm sick of a couple of the '65 songs, so slight edge to '70 for #s 1, 2, and 5 (and I like 4's B-side).

I vividly recall every song from 2000 *except* the #1, which must surely be among Enrique's most generic and least memorable charting singles -- I just searched it up and I've already forgotten how it goes! Give me "Rhythm Divine" any day

3 is Monica bursting onto the scene with some fresh hip hop soul
4 is Boyz II Men doing (and done by) Babyface

I'm gonna do another of these polls, but will have to do albums, as the singles in July are largely the same as in June

I meant to vote for 1970; sometimes I post and forget.
