the idea that QAnon followers are mentally ill is...kinda interesting actually. I know one person who's way into that bullshit and she seems absolutely miserable, just paranoid and upset about everything all the time

after years of picking it up piecemeal, I'm finally watching this via a comprehensive playlist from podcast episode 1 and just
marveling at Tim stealing Gregg's likeness for Kington, and lines like

"Well I find it ridiculous that you get in a motorcycle accident in a non-moving vehicle and suddenly you're blind."

I had never heard this Heidecker podcast so I listened to a couple of eps, it is very funny but also I am so used to him being in character that it’s weird to hear him talking about actual good films, how insane trump is &c

Also I only just realised that when he flips out & has tantrums and bullies people in on cinema he is totally doing Christian Bale in the terminator clip

I hear a lot of this clip in Tim’s tantrums too:

oh shiiiiiiit I'll probably watch some of that once I get bored with Unsolved Mysteries tonight. looking back on 2015, decker really was, cumulatively speaking, the best two hours of that entire year

Funny getting a two-minute Epoch Ties preroll ad when clicking on that QAnon video above.

Also just listened to Tim's Glendale on Spotify for the first time. Good stuff!

Read that much of the past eps on youtube have been disappearing, which sucks unless Adult Swim is willing to host everything as well.

watching Tim and Gregg watch On Cinema was A+

Tim said they have tons of outtakes where they break into laughter and he teased a compilation. Evidently this is usually Gregg's fault for droning on too long and not being able to get out before he breaks.

I had no idea each season was filmed in a single day. I figured maybe over the course of a couple weeks or something....

Loved Gregg’s Chicken Delight jacket and of course he has a Tiki room in his house (extra points for him if he bought it because it already had a Tiki room).

Animated Decker pilot has been unpaywalled: https://www.adultswim.com/videos/decker/the-animated-adventures-of-jack-decker-pilot

animating Tim's mangled line readings is funny, but it could also be a good gag if they obviously edit his audio around them in any theoretical future episodes

three weeks pass...

In Tim's IG stories today someone asked about the future of OCatC and he suggested that Adult Swim was less than enthusiastic about the show... which seems crazy right?

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Saturday, 5 September 2020 05:07 (three years ago) link

Well AS has so much other great content rn so

imago, Saturday, 5 September 2020 06:55 (three years ago) link

Noticed that in the stories too. Made me curious as well. Decker question had the same exact answer.

Evan, Saturday, 5 September 2020 20:51 (three years ago) link

I don't really find it surprising. it's a show which could only appeal to total heads. not going to win over many people flicking between channels. the youtube episodes don't even do particularly spectacular numbers. they have to fundraise to make the Oscar special every year. seems very much like a labour of love from them rather than something adult swim is keen for them to keep making

rascal clobber (jim in vancouver), Saturday, 5 September 2020 20:56 (three years ago) link

Tim always seems to have a chip on his shoulder when it comes to stuff like this so who knows. You’d think Adult Swim would let him do whatever he wants by now.

frogbs, Saturday, 5 September 2020 23:10 (three years ago) link

well, there's all those production expenses to keep in mind

Karl Malone, Sunday, 6 September 2020 00:39 (three years ago) link

Was gonna say, if AS decides not to proceed with On Cinema, I have a full jar of change that I'm willing to donate to a couple seasons' worth of production costs.

last i checked, tim's production company produces quite a few shows for adult swim, so i'd imagine his low-budget passion project isn't going to get the axe any time soon
