I seriously don't remember the last time I've been as excited about a basketball game since that George Mason-UConn match. Gotta admit that seeing Jim Calhoun's pouty face at the end made it all worthwhile.

according to wikipedia it's been 31 years since there hasn't been a team from the Big Ten, Big East, Big 8/12 or ACC in the final four (though syracuse was in that year as an independent)

so I'm gonna win this here pickem tournament if GMU can win one more. Otherwise, pleasant pains is going to win with his genius florida pick.

Clearly, 2006 is "Best Tournament Ever" already. What's #2?

I'd almost say 2005 is #2. So many OTs and 2OTs.

As much as I hate Florida (ahem Noah), it's good to see 2 SEC teams in the Final Four.

GMU has been amazing and really deserves to make some history.

During the Stanfurd/LSU women's game, there was an NCAA commercial with a blonde with a striking resemblence to Kirsten Dunst. I didn't catch her name -- anyone know who I'm talking about?

No more George Mason. It was too bad, too, they were really hanging in there until Humphries started making threes in his sleep in the second half. From then on, they really came down to earth and it was as if the last few weekends never happened. Still, one of the more improbable sports stories in a while.

it needs to be said: congratulations to the gutty young ucla bruins for putting the biggest final four asswhipping in recent memory on lsu last night. so beautiful.

Can we congratulate the Bruins for allowing Florida to whup on them like they whupped on LSU? Or should we just start a pool to buy Noah some hair conditioner?

Or maybe Steve Lavin can donate some pomade.

Fuck this shit. Is anybody consistently good year-over-year at picking these fuckers or is it all pretty much random?
