Just curious why the app prevents you from pinching / resizing images ?

It’s not so much that it prevents it, it’s more than I don’t know how to enable it! Time to copy and paste random things from StackOverflow dot com again

update on my search problem:

at some point I discovered that search actually does work fine for me when I do it on the bookmarks page. the issue I described back in Dec and Jan is with searching on
one of the board pages. so basically I’m good as long as I think before I search.

Hey, stet, poss. I missed this upthread but are you aware poll results aren’t showing? Not the end of the world as I can pull them up on Safari and I’m not sure if it’s only a problem with older threads. But I’ve noticed it a bunch when searching through various poll threads of late.

Have you got some examples, please? All the ones I've looked at so far are working OK for me

i can't remember if i've said this before but trying to save an image from zing results in an instant crash.

Talking about pictures, would it be possible to allow for zooming in on pictures when selecting a post?

^ mentioned previously, I think stet said it's just a matter of putting in the time to make this possible.

The workaround is to bookmark a post from the poll thread and then open it from the bookmark if that helps

Hi, can’t find it anywhere, but I’m having triuble with Zing— none of my bookmarks are working, tho I’m logged in and so forth. It appears to be attempting to load them but then I get the ! inside a triangle symbol. Any help appreciated!

I had that. Logging out of Zing and in again helped, though it still doesn’t seem to be syncing bookmarks between Zing and web as reliably as it was.

has zing been delisted from the apple app store? just tried to install zing ON (new) IPHONE and can’t seem to find it anymore

Oh that’s strange, not showing for me either.

same here. funnily enough I had a problem with the app some time last month and removed it. it was still in the store then or I wouldn’t be here now (perish the thought)

Sorry about that – I need to pay Apple yearly to stay on the store, and they had an expired credit card on file. Should be back shortly!

Not exactly urgent, but I am finding that the latest version of this app crashes when I am reading a message and tilt it to landscape. I’m on iOS 16.3.1.

It’s been like that for years, for me.

Any chance the dark mode could be tied to the system setting? The number of phones without that feature must be pretty small now.

Love this app and have a feature request:
In-app toggle to lock orientation - I don't think I'll ever use landscape mode on my phone.

I've put it on the list, but while you wait this is pretty easy to automate with Shortcuts. Just make a new Automation that sets orientation lock on every time Zing opens (and another one that disables it when Zing closes). Ok now I type it out that sounds cumbersome, but it's pretty easy!

Dear stet, I thought I had asked about this but I can’t see that I did in any of the zing threads so ignore me if I’ve brought it up before and you said no.

Is there any chance of a function to hide certain thread titles from sna? If not no problem, but not sure how doable it would be

I have in fact built this - but to make room for a button to do it, I then did the thing you’re supposed to not do and bundled it with another change (an in-line composer) which is turning out to be bloody tricky and is making the whole thing take ages. I’ll try and hurry up.
