i've got a bodum bistro burr grinder and it really doesn't get it quite fine enough for my aeropress but it's close enough for me to have gotten used to and adjust for

applying too much force to the knob might suggest you're overindulging in the cof

There are certain special products that just get away with their flaws. I felt the same way about the Pavoni when I had it running - there were all kinds of things about it that were a complete pain in the ass, but it made the best fucking coffee so I put up with it.

for her, and then if no one wld shed often just take one from the self service station and run out, the people at the store wld be like hey (cant remember her name my friends and i called her delicious coffee) cmon again

If someone randomly asked me to buy them a "delicious coffee" I don't think I could help but oblige

i've subscribed to Counter Culture's 2-bags every 2-weeks delivery service for several years now. it's run by some good friends of ours from back in the day in DC.

about a year ago I was on a business trip in Leicester and walked into this place for a cup of coffee:

The cof was UTTERLY AMAZING and on the strength of that, and the fact that the dog in their logo refers to an actual dog who hangs lazily around inside the coffee shop, and the fact that they do free shipping, I've been getting a kilo of whole bean cof delivered to my house every month.

i am going to switch to back low tech method because i'm not commuting for a while and i don't need as much coffee as i used to. not sure if that's a result of getting more sleep for the past few months, but more than a cup makes me feel yucky now. i think i'm ready to enjoy coffee again.

any canadians aboot? i've been using https://buycoffeecanada.com/ and it's good. Roasted when ordered. A little cheaper than the best stuff at the supermarkets around here (Justus).

I'm pretty new at coffee (i used to just be able to be awake) and I'm not sure what it is about pricier beans ($20/pound) tending to taste nicer? I don't have a vocabulary for it and I'm not bothered enough to buy it all of the time. Know what i mean?

There tends to be more care in the roast process, in bean selection, and in culling out the bad ones for one thing. Also I do find single origins tend to be a little tastier than blends for whatever reason, like they just have more distinct flavors to them.

I mean like a lot of products, there's plenty of overpriced bullshit out there, but there are also certain aspects of creating good quality that just cost more in time, labor, inputs, etc. The same way you're just not going to get a really good bottle of wine for $4.00, because it's just not possible to do the minimum it takes to make really good wine and sell at $4.00 without taking a huge loss.

for me one of the things that good coffee tends to have when brewed well is distinct flavors across the register particularly if it has that high note and then some other complimentary stuff like earthiness on the low end etc

we're on a subscription that sends us 2 different bags every 2 weeks, so i've had almost all of them many times. but despite drinking tons of them, i think i'm a very poor judge of what's good, and why. also note that i'm not a regular espresso/capp drinker - most of the time i'm just drinking black coffee.

having said all that, i think my favorite is maybe their Haru. but maybe i just really like coffee from Kenya.

Paying for my sins this morning, the sin of not making cold brew last night when I meant to. Then I would have clinking icy delicious cold cof instead of this hot glass of it's 84 degrees out why am I doing this?

Coffee and I have been having a bit of a lovers' quarrel lately, IDK. Maybe it's COVID, maybe it's that I'm on a different workout regimen, but caffeine is suddenly affecting me a lot more harshly and worse, and I'm having some serious panic when I drink what used to be normal amounts for me. Cutting back but not giving up.

It hurt pretty bad that I bought myself a nice Stumptown single origin and that it made me feel so shitty today. Maybe I need to just make it a little weaker -- something I never thought I'd say.

i am having the same experience as man alive. i believe it's mostly due to work changes but my level of activity is way down generally and i don't get tired from everyday things like i used to. i didn't realize the relationship between that and my physical reaction to coffee; in my mind the arrow only went in one direction before (drink coffee-->feel more awake, not feel awake-->can't drink more coffee). i used to have a fairly active/v. exhausting job and would drink 2 large cups of coffee in the am and then sometimes have some during the day. now i have one normal-sized cup and if i have any more i get jittery and sweaty. what i am most intrigued by is that i'm not conscious of being significantly less tired. i feel as tired as usual but coffee is able to get to something hidden in your brain and it knows when you need it ooooOOOOOooooo

Same here, I've gone to putting half decaf/half reg in my coffee maker. Much better in terms of jitters but obviously the taste suffers.
