I would prefer Optimo, I think, Bugged Out isn't going to go away and will probably be rocking that exact same lineup in the not-too-distant future.

tonight will be busy. bugged out, then MANDY @ fabric, then hopefully optimo.

rchinn (rchinn), Saturday, 18 March 2006 11:34 (thirteen years ago) Permalink

If I can do Optimo, Matt, I'll let you know.

Optimo people - the Lex and I will be meeting at The Castle from 9-9.30ish. Come along.

It's just occurred to me the last time I saw Optimo (at Plastic People) was exactly a year ago today.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 18 March 2006 18:39 (thirteen years ago) Permalink

the best night out i've had in a long while, if not ever. (okay I am mostly ignoring pre-1am)

it was lovely to meet you, Ambrose!

permanent revolution (cis), Sunday, 19 March 2006 08:21 (thirteen years ago) Permalink

That was so weird - pre 1am it was shockingly bad and then pretty much as soon as Twitch came on and thereafter it became THE BEST THING EVER! Especially hearing Silent Shout out and the Justified and Ancient moment.

Good to see Ambrose again, and meet Twitch properly for the first time. I'm going to sleep for three days now.

ambrose (ambrose), Sunday, 19 March 2006 17:56 (thirteen years ago) Permalink

Ambrose, the only girl I saw you near last night was Cis (or, which stylish girl? It was identikit action a-go-go at Canvas). Shame about the hoodie, as after my eyesight started dying, I realised I couldn't identify you without it. I mean, I thought it was orange.

Oh man, I wish I'd gone! But given the funk I'm in it's probably best that I didn't.

marianna lcl (marianna lcl), Sunday, 19 March 2006 19:34 (thirteen years ago) Permalink

OMG! I had a flashback at about 7.30 this evening to about 5am, just as we were leaving. I bumped into my first girlfriend's ex-boyfriend, who was there as a policeman trying to clear the whole thing out. The last time I'd seen him was nine years ago when I shouting "you are a complete cunt" in his face, with good reason.

I was in NO STATE WHATSOEVER to be having the conversation I actually had with him at the time. I think said "how are you in the police force? Didn't you get done for fraud?"

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 19 March 2006 23:20 (thirteen years ago) Permalink

the 'silent shout' arpeggios work shockingly well with the mdma. also 'rej' by ame = ANTHEM.

marianna we missed you! hope you had a good birthday anyway...

lovely to meet ambrose too.

i feel woeful today, though i suspect it's proper illingness and actually nothing to do with saturday night at all.

matt's ability to sleep makes me envious.

cis's massages, omg.

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 20 March 2006 10:01 (thirteen years ago) Permalink

Ame - Rej is definately one of the tunes of last year. Sounds best on Andre Galluzzi's Berghain compilation following up Robag's Wombat track.

Anyone kick on to any afterparties. MANDY at Public Life were amazing.

MANDY at Public Life were amazing

ambrose (ambrose), Monday, 20 March 2006 16:50 (thirteen years ago) Permalink

Ambrose were you at Public Life too?

Photos from Optimo.

rchinn (rchinn), Monday, 20 March 2006 20:31 (thirteen years ago) Permalink

Also, the next one has Justice, Mr Oizo, Uffie and someone else French I can't remember. Anyone know when it is?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 20 March 2006 21:04 (thirteen years ago) Permalink

no but mandy at public life sounds like thebest thing ever, in this world. just about. where were they playing before? at the end? what time was the afterparty?

ambrose (ambrose), Monday, 20 March 2006 21:18 (thirteen years ago) Permalink

Just found myself in a crowd scene, and dammit, looks like a pretty blonde was checking me out after all...

Hal! Jordan! HAL! JORDAN! (Barima), Monday, 20 March 2006 23:13 (thirteen years ago) Permalink

Ok, so Our Disco with the French line-up possibly early May, not confirmed yet, but on its way. Keep fingers crossed.

M.A.N.D.Y. played Fabric from 4.30am - 8.30am, then Public Life 2pm - 5pm. Was awesome. The guys charisma really took hold in that little public toilet of wrongness that is so so good.

whats happening this weekend?

charltonlido (gareth), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 18:29 (thirteen years ago) Permalink

I know that this isn't necessarily dancing, but some of the people who like dancing also like this:

Sonic Cathedrals, wibble like it's 1992!

Emsk and I have seen Howling Bells before, they're quite good!

Did I Mention My PAISLEY SOCKS? (kate), Friday, 24 March 2006 10:26 (thirteen years ago) Permalink

whats happening this weekend?

i can vouch for Richard Bartz (tomorrow @ fabric), i saw him last month and he tore the place apart

Yawn (Wintermute), Friday, 24 March 2006 20:08 (thirteen years ago) Permalink

cant go back to Fabric this weekend, as much as I would like to see Robag does his this with Monkey Mafia. going to lay low and think about five consecutive days of party in April.

rchinn (rchinn), Saturday, 25 March 2006 16:16 (thirteen years ago) Permalink

hate to go on about it but

sud electronic
31st march
the departure, EC3N 2HT

triple r (dj)
alex under (live)
11 while 6

ambrose (ambrose), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 14:30 (twelve years ago) Permalink

i'm planning to not do anything this weekend again - just got over nasty flu + april is mental = energy must be conserved.

8 april - alex smoke at the light (interviewing him beforehand)
15 april - either soulwax nite versions/2manydjs/tiga at canvas or matthew dear/akufen/smagghe at fabric (would prefer latter but friend who's doing a bday would prefer the former)
22 april - this is superkoze night right? if so i don't want to do fabric two weeks running.

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 14:37 (twelve years ago) Permalink

But Canvas >>>>>>> Fabric though!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 14:43 (twelve years ago) Permalink

unfortunately canvas PA

ambrose (ambrose), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 14:46 (twelve years ago) Permalink

canvas >>>>> fabric especially fabric two weeks running. but matthew dear isn't in these parts as often as soulwax! who i have seen approx 94849393303 times now. annabel wants the canvas party though, and i'm likely to end up there.

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 14:48 (twelve years ago) Permalink

haha whoops my message should have read canvas PA is much worse than the fabric PA. ILX seems to be terribly fearful of any ">"s i use, presuming them to be dodgy html

ambrose (ambrose), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 15:12 (twelve years ago) Permalink

Fabric beer is considerably cheaper than Canvas beer as well, which is extortionate. Especially if, on top of that, we have to pay to get in next time.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 15:15 (twelve years ago) Permalink

i have never bought beer in either fabric or canvas.

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 15:21 (twelve years ago) Permalink

31st: triple r at departure looks good, i dont know where departure is, but triple r good

(friday, for you londoners. meh... might go to Leeds for Wighnomy Bros, but then I say that every week and it never happens :( )

file under cozy techno (fandango), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 16:09 (twelve years ago) Permalink

its a cocoon thing at technique, go see trentemoller at dirty disco and maybe the times'll sync up to catch the wighnomy bros up the road

ambrose (ambrose), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 17:39 (twelve years ago) Permalink

I'm kind of in the dark about Trentemoller actually! I have the idea he's kind of super-shiny electro-house, and I heard that one (sorta overrated I thought) Royksopp remix... I know he's rated around here ... I'll go have a look for the D.Disco website!

Cheers :)

file under cozy techno (fandango), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 17:44 (twelve years ago) Permalink

btw this sounds daft but does "cozy" reveal yr identity?
i cant keep track of pseudonyms!

(pssst dont tell anyone but i dont know anything about trentemoller either but i just like getting excited about things!)

(well, polar shift is really good i ghuess. dont know anything outside serenetti and his poker flat stuff)

dirty disco is at northern light, which is a good reason to go there. technique is at mint club which is a good reason not to go there :(

ambrose (ambrose), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 19:22 (twelve years ago) Permalink

cozy? Koze?

It's just a cute phrase I stole off the Monika Enterprise website (until I get bored of it).

In case you're not logged in it's just er.. me "fandango" which is about all the identity I want to reveal on the internet!

file under cozy techno (fandango), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 19:30 (twelve years ago) Permalink

oh whoops i thought you were cozen under a new guise

ambrose (ambrose), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 20:07 (twelve years ago) Permalink

I'm going to catch Alex Under, Triple R and Portable at the Süd electronics party. Their parties are always quite good although I have never been to Departure, and its a nothing part of town. But anyway, Traum/Trapez/MBF are all good stuff.

rchinn (rchinn), Thursday, 30 March 2006 22:59 (twelve years ago) Permalink

is that tomorrow night, or tonite?

charltonlido (gareth), Friday, 31 March 2006 09:28 (twelve years ago) Permalink

still not going out this weekend. alex smoke on the 8th and soulwax/2manydjs/tiga on the 15th are definites though.

Ronan's brother's got a new night, first one is in Bar Oporto Friday the 7th, with guest Ronan's mate Phil (who I think some of you have met?) 8pm-1am.

l like london if its gonna be like this!

absent friends - we missed ya but come to the next thing!

ambrose (ambrose), Sunday, 2 April 2006 13:37 (twelve years ago) Permalink

Süd thing was ok. Marco and Portable didnt quite play warm-up sets, but Alex Under and Triple R were good.

Ended up catching a few seconds of Squarepusher on Saturday night, then onto the new Zombie afterhours at Jawami which was pretty good.
