i watched his commentary on the movie last night and it was delightful, especially when it got to the car transformation sequence

i should correct myself upthread, there's only commentary on the last 3-4 episodes. it's great though, especially for ihukara kinda playfully sparring with chiho saito, especially relevant to me right now because i'm reading the manga and it's soooo different

hard to imagine this show with any element out of place, but especially without the j. a. ceasar songs, which give it so much of its character. i would personally like more choral prog metal in my life

Has anyone seen the new Gundam show, The Witch from Mercury? I just watched Episode 1, and never mind allusions or references to Utena - this was practically a goddamn remake of the first episode!

Anyway I recently rewatched the middle story arc and it still completely rules

yeah its v intentional & cheeky to make it clear what type of story it is but it doesnt really have much in common after that first episode. fun show though
