nothing to get angry about in the last week either. (please don't look at the very suspicious blowing up of 45000 year old aboriginal site)

Given the UK tory party's desire to employ the absolute worst Australia has to offer. Can we offer them a list who to free us from next? I'm putting Clive Palmer, George Christiansen, the ginger troll on it for a start. Take those three and they can have a special gift of Barnaby Joyce at no extra charge.

"We also need to talk to aspiration - those coalminers on $150,000, $200,000 a year, who have big mortgages but have worked hard, and made big decisions on behalf of their family, who can't afford to have politicians specifically close down their industries," he said

meanwhile an American billionaire's unprofitable TV subscription service have just been given $10 million in taxpayer money to broadcast "womens and niche" sports to taxpayers that individually give them more money - with no requirement to actually broadcast any sports - as an extension of a previous $30 million grant to broadcast said undefined sports, and also on top of $10 million in COVID grants, and another $7.5 million in COVID grants, and further on top of fees from the ABC's taxpayer-based-funding to licence womens sport to broadcast, as the rights had been granted to Foxtel without actually requiring them to bother showing them.

This latest $10 million cost the taxpayer an extra https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-11-13/foxtel-given-0-million-without-plan-to-spend-it-foi-reveals/1286870466 for Senator Colbeck's staff to take time redacting the few facts that he bothered to include in the grant.

@oneposter (⛰️) (sic), Thursday, 12 November 2020 23:03 (three years ago) link

Tbf, the only other thing they could have used that 10million for would be to fund a new bar at a golf club in a liberal electorate so it’s not like we’re loosing out.

American Fear of Scampos (Ed), Thursday, 12 November 2020 23:23 (three years ago) link

Yeah, there's no more efficient way of getting women's sport onto the ABC, or they'd have done it already.

@oneposter (⛰️) (sic), Thursday, 12 November 2020 23:39 (three years ago) link

Pre-Raphaelite Brah (King Boy Pato), Friday, 13 November 2020 10:05 (three years ago) link

@oneposter (⛰️) (sic), Friday, 13 November 2020 10:34 (three years ago) link

Turns out, after 14 years, that Scott Morrison wasn't fired from Tourism Australia for corruptly awarding a $180 million contract to Saatchi, and we should all be ashamed of ourselves for believing that.

Instead, he was fired for lying to Senate Estimates about the existence of the external probity report that he'd claimed proved that he hadn't corruptly awarded the contract. Though tbf when asked at the time he'd told the government that the report proving he hadn't rorted their money was "commercial in confidence" so he couldn't show them.
