whose rolls are flush with the wall????

In many houses, especially older ones, the holder is built into the wall. So the free end exits the recess and then hangs along the wall.

I ask you: if the free end exits from under the roll, where is it going to be hanging? Along the wall. Which will likely be teeming with bacteria-laden fecal aerosols. Now, if you're ok with touching the wall each time you want to get some toilet paper, go right ahead.

But I prefer having it come off the top, so the the free end is floating in space.

Over is even better in a corporate setting.

Ever tried to get a sheet from one of these that was positioned under? You have to pull the whole weight of the giant roll toward you, and most of the time time, the tiny edge you've clasped breaks off in your fingers.

When it's positioned over, where the end is on the side of the seat and not the door, it's easier to pull.

Next thing some of of y'all are gonna tell me is that contestants on The Price Is Right should spin the Big Wheel underhanded for better results.

Switching from over to under didn't dissuade Jonesy a bit. After we put the roll on the toilet tank, he lost interest.
