Constant media blaming, it's all your fault

some infected evening (Matt #2), Monday, 25 May 2020 16:22 (three years ago) link

Literally the only thing the media might have got wrong is him going back to Durham, he's admitted to everything else they said.

Someone needs to ask him if the govt guidelines were unclear, seeing as how everyone interpreted them differently to him

some infected evening (Matt #2), Monday, 25 May 2020 16:23 (three years ago) link

(xp) Can someone please point that out to this cunt.

Is Lou Reed a Good Singer? (Tom D.), Monday, 25 May 2020 16:24 (three years ago) link

yes, people were being fined and turned back from driving to holiday homes. how was that any different?

did the 'exceptional circumstances' clause exist? have they retconned it?

koogs, Monday, 25 May 2020 16:26 (three years ago) link

Oh, I forgot about his house in London being under siege from violent pitchfork-wielding mobs.

4 hour drive with a 4 year old and no stops... is straining the credibility of his story a little

||||||||, Monday, 25 May 2020 16:27 (three years ago) link

from what i've seen on twitter (sorry) the exceptional guidelines were intended to allow for ways of dealing with domestic violence and sexual abuse.

Matt Hancock told the UK: ‘Yesterday the Prime Minister announced radical steps to stop the spread of this virus.

‘These steps are not requests; they are rules.

‘You should stay at home unless you have one of the four reasons, which is exercise, shopping as little as you have to, for medical reasons, or to go to work where that work can’t be done at home.’

gyac, Monday, 25 May 2020 16:35 (three years ago) link

I think he’s probably that the media have misrepresented him and his massive brain a lot - it does seem true that he was arguing for lockdown early on among other things.

But my god he personally weaponised misrepresentation against Labour and Remain alone so a) you love to see it and b) he should be much, much better at countering it than this.

stet, Monday, 25 May 2020 16:35 (three years ago) link

Cummings said he warned about i.a. corona virus in 2019.

Thing is, he didn't. References to SARS and corona virus were added to his blog post on pandemic risks sometime between April and May of this year. pic.twitter.com/NneonooLoj

Lol right, blatantly all using the same wording too

everybody knows it's time to abolish the BBC tbf

Children of Bo-Dom (Noodle Vague), Monday, 25 May 2020 16:49 (three years ago) link

Some Tory MPs have ‘conveyed the strength of local feeling to relevant colleagues’. In some cases ‘robustly’ and even ‘very robustly’.

Were those messages to ‘relevant colleagues’ also drafted by the same ‘relevant colleagues’ who drafted these tweets?

Rest assured everyone! pic.twitter.com/ejo0H0CMhR

Johnson to take conference at 7pm.

A really concerted “he has made a frank and full account and acted correctly” spin effort underway now.

If you regard Daily Mail comments as indicative of the mood of a certain swathe of the authoritarian, letter-writing public, then they’re extremely angry and getting more so.

gyac, Monday, 25 May 2020 17:34 (three years ago) link

they’re err missing the mood of the country?

Need to hear from the football forums to be sure but it doesn’t look good

So Cummings had to stop on his 30 minute drive home from Barnard Castle to let his son have a wee but didn't need to stop once on the five hour journey from London to Durham?

NEW: Prof Chris Whitty and Sir Patrick Vallance left No 10 at approx 1820.

Earlier we were told they would be appearing with the PM at the daily press conference.

Why did they turn up for the presser and then leave?

Have asked No 10 for comment. pic.twitter.com/1rE8H48y5H

According to Andrew Bridgen, Dominic Cummings is a key worker. Let's all get out there on Thursday night and give him the applause he deserves!

Is Lou Reed a Good Singer? (Tom D.), Monday, 25 May 2020 18:17 (three years ago) link

Killer fact from that is this.

The Cummings/Wakefield family ended up in a hospital in Durham - 260m from home.

That is precisely the reason the lockdown told people to stay at home if they get sick.

So as not to spread the virus around the country.
