sturgeons are an absolute fuck to catch

form of mouth device (Autumn Almanac), Friday, 22 May 2020 07:11 (three years ago) link

I forgot about that early or late riser thing!

Southern users: anyone ever found more than one truffle? Theyre clearly rare (10k each!) but I did think I'dve found more than ONE by now.

TRUFFLES!

I want truffles

megan thee macallan 18 year (||||||||), Friday, 22 May 2020 07:18 (three years ago) link

what are they used for? crafting?

megan thee macallan 18 year (||||||||), Friday, 22 May 2020 07:19 (three years ago) link

one thing i do a lot of in this game is craft or buy wallpapers that seem cool in the abstract but become nightmarishly garish as soon as they're in a room with furniture or anything in it

na (NA), Friday, 22 May 2020 17:05 (three years ago) link

so then i go back to the same three wallpapers i've used basically since i started the game

na (NA), Friday, 22 May 2020 17:06 (three years ago) link

I got stung by enough wasps to make the honeycomb wall which I kind of love.

Truffles yeah they come as part of the fall mushroom set so yeah you need a few to make a couple of the DIY seasonal pieces.

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Saturday, 23 May 2020 11:38 (three years ago) link

I'm very excited for fall now! I hope you can only dig them up under hardwood trees when one of your dog or pig neighbors is near :D

I keep catching those gigantic oarfish! I gasp every time I land one - so huge! Really glad they don't wriggle.

Jaq, Saturday, 23 May 2020 12:46 (three years ago) link

i say this in a positive way: i can't believe i'm still playing this every day!

i haven't played a game this consistently, for weeks at a time, in a very long time. it really helps that the game is designed so that you can do your "chores" in about 20 minutes or less, but also can spend much longer if you feel like it

Karl Malone, Saturday, 23 May 2020 16:43 (three years ago) link

yes, that's how i've enjoyed it too. it's pleasant checking in and completing a few satisfying tasks everyday as incremental progress towards a long-term goal. tbh it helps me keep some basic irl stuff in perspective b/c i'm historically bad at sticking to healthy routines. a little exercise here, a little creative pursuit there, i'm not a failure if i don't accomplish what i want all at once, etc.

karl...arlk...rlka...lkar..., Saturday, 23 May 2020 16:51 (three years ago) link

yeah, same! the other day, i had a ton of bells, enough to finally do a shit ton of infrastructure week on the Boneyarden (my e-home and spiritual rejuvenation center). and it was nice, in a way, when fucking tom nook let me know that i could only build one new infrastructure item per day! that little construction dude in the hat isn't going to do two in a day! calm down! sometimes i need to be forced to do that

Karl Malone, Saturday, 23 May 2020 17:03 (three years ago) link

My critter neighbors threw me a birthday party this morning and it was honestly fun and touching. I love giving them stuff and seeing them use/wear it :)

Not doing turnips the past few weeks has let me enjoy playing more - less anxiety/stress about checking am/pm for prices etc. I've got one or two more inclines to build. Thinking about relocating my house to the alpine highland.

Jaq, Saturday, 23 May 2020 17:12 (three years ago) link

happy birthday!!

Karl Malone, Saturday, 23 May 2020 17:13 (three years ago) link

Ty! They gave me party flooring :)

Jaq, Saturday, 23 May 2020 17:50 (three years ago) link

Aw no, I wouldve come visit if I knew! Alas I was out in the *shudder* Real World at an Ikea :(

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Sunday, 24 May 2020 06:31 (three years ago) link

I think I got the party a day late because I received my switch the evening of my birthday! I thought it was nice they addressed that situation

Oarfish leave in a few days ;(

I skimmed all the way back through this thread yesterday looking for the lil jurg Frey link and spotted the life-changing post about pocket organizing by holding down A and omg THANK YOU whoever posted that

Jaq, Wednesday, 27 May 2020 12:08 (three years ago) link

that feeling when you get an oarfish is pretty dope, i must say

Nhex, Wednesday, 27 May 2020 12:21 (three years ago) link

and shit, guess i better try to get a golden trout. time for more endless clam/bait grinding

Nhex, Wednesday, 27 May 2020 12:22 (three years ago) link

This morning I got the DIY for the golden toilet, made one asap and ate 10 cherries to try it out. I still want the fancy electronic one that plays music, but this one is pretty fun.

Jaq, Wednesday, 27 May 2020 13:44 (three years ago) link

It snowed on my island the other day :) Now its sunny again which is a bit weird.

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Wednesday, 27 May 2020 23:16 (three years ago) link

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Thursday, 28 May 2020 06:43 (three years ago) link

Yeah any gifts would be nice but not essential!

nate woolls, Thursday, 28 May 2020 06:46 (three years ago) link

We don't have any paths but the shop is kind of NE from the airport

nate woolls, Thursday, 28 May 2020 06:54 (three years ago) link

thanks Nate! I didnt make as much money as I thought I would lol I'd only bought 2000 turnips.

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Thursday, 28 May 2020 07:08 (three years ago) link

BTW I brought you fall stuff assuming it would be summer in your island but it wasnt!?

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Thursday, 28 May 2020 07:23 (three years ago) link

you da best!
weird to see that you're in the southern hemisphere so all your bugs and fish were different

Nhex, Thursday, 28 May 2020 07:24 (three years ago) link

My apple and orange trees grew from fruit I took from Trayce's Island last week

nate woolls, Thursday, 28 May 2020 07:42 (three years ago) link

but when i visited you your trees were all orange and you had mushrooms growing.

Was my game wigging out!?

BTW thank Seth for sending me those godzillas that was very kind (or did you do that?)

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Friday, 29 May 2020 00:16 (three years ago) link

my turnips are 278 and my gates are staying open for a while

form of mouth device (Autumn Almanac), Friday, 29 May 2020 00:50 (three years ago) link

xp yeah we've had a few different types of mushrooms growing for a couple of weeks. Pear is my native tree but I have got a few apple and orange trees growing from fruit I took from your island. Yes your host yesterday was Seth :)

nate woolls, Friday, 29 May 2020 01:04 (three years ago) link

are you playing north or south hemisphere?

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Friday, 29 May 2020 04:20 (three years ago) link

nate woolls, Friday, 29 May 2020 05:29 (three years ago) link

cute funny face guy

jel6, Wednesday, 3 June 2020 06:47 (three years ago) link

i saw a fish silhouette with a fin for the first time last night and it was a great white shark. i thought blathers would be more impressed tbh

karl...arlk...rlka...lkar..., Wednesday, 3 June 2020 13:15 (three years ago) link

pale chub, loach, great white shark, yeah yeah keep it movin buddy here's some interesting facts

karl...arlk...rlka...lkar..., Wednesday, 3 June 2020 13:16 (three years ago) link

I really enjoy giving bugs to Blathers and making him sweat and freak out :)

Caught 3 types of shark yesterday morning super early, ribbon eel and huge river fish that starts with A later in the day while Mordy was visiting! Decided to try my luck with turnips this week and the local price has completely tanked. Sounds like if I want to catch ants and flies, I need to let turnips rot?

Jaq, Wednesday, 3 June 2020 13:23 (three years ago) link

use turnip.exchange to unload your nips at high prices, if you don't mind going to a stranger's island

karl...arlk...rlka...lkar..., Wednesday, 3 June 2020 13:55 (three years ago) link

and potentially waiting in a long queue

karl...arlk...rlka...lkar..., Wednesday, 3 June 2020 13:56 (three years ago) link
