did my first trail half marathon last November and it was a blast, will probably do it again this year (if they have it)

I don't know how people do this without spraining an ankle every time

go slow and stay on your toes. feet and lower legs get strong fast ime.

the group races i might have done are all cancelled for the summer but i'm a little relieved actually. part of the reason i love trail running is for the solo time. though trails are definitely busier than ever in my neck of the woods.

one month passes...

ski resorts aren't exactly pristine but they're a great place to run in the summer. i'm lucky i live within like 30 minutes of a few. i feel like i'm writing a summer essay lol. the wasatch can be crowded but it's definitely a real one as far as blessing your aching calves and burning lungs with thousands of feet in elevation gain in a few miles. i only did 500 feet and 2 miles today but it was fun and beautiful and challenging.
