Just two days ago I was listening to a Philly Soul compilation when "Only the Strong Survive" came on, and I started thinking about how many songs involved what somebody's mama said. Quite a few, as it turns out.

i think another hundred should be easy to come by; i appreciate that people are posting interesting and/or well-known songs instead of just googling up a list.
