Looks like an update based on the comments, but the hyperallergic article now says: "(These drawings appear to replicate those of cartoonist R. Crumb and his comic strip Stoned, included in Head Comix, a collection of his comics published by Viking Press in 1968.)"

yeah, that wasn't there this morning; editor dropped the ball. no reference to crumb at all in the gallery description!
in any case, pretty sure those are from Zap originally.
