I'm playing with flowers haphazardly. Purple tulips, pink and blue windflowers, pink mums and lilies, blue hyacinths.

Spent an hour yesterday with a coworker's 5 year old on my island while simultaneously on the phone with him and it's the most fun thing I've done in 7 weeks. He is desperate to dig holes :)

The MayDay maze island was fun - I'd forgot the last AC game had that thing where you could go and do comps (mazes, speedruns etc) and I hope they do more of that. The maze puzzle reminded me a bit of Links Awakening.

At a mere ten days, Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ cherry blossom season is woefully short. Many players didn’t manage to find all the accompanying DIY recipes during that time frame. Players could time travel so that they don’t have to wait nearly a year to get another chance. But there’s another option. You just have to be willing to drop a ton of bells.

Nookazon, the leading Animal Crossing marketplace, launched an “auction” feature in early May that lets players bid on items of interest. A Nookazon representative tells Polygon that, so far, the biggest auction on the site was over a bundle of 100 cherry blossom petals. Initially posted at 10,000 bells, the auction closed with a bid of a whopping 2.8M bells.

The price point, while outrageous, makes sense. Most players aren’t in early spring anymore, meaning that items belonging to that season are now rare and therefore open to be sold at a premium. Anyone who had the foresight to stock up on their seasonal crafting materials, rather than using them up, can now sell them at a huge profit. The wider pricing trends just two days ago saw a single petal hit a high of 40,000 bells — though Nookazon lists the “average” price at 25,000.

I succumbed and bought this game

Purple mum, blue pansy, and black rose have sprung up. I convinced my workout obsessed pig neighbor to move away and a workout obsessed cat moved in. The golden retriever sent me a very needy note this morning.

i skipped a few days and when i got back to the island the purple mouse ran over to me and was like "omg i've missed you so much you really have no idea" and i was like ok then let's chat and all she had to say was "i saw C earlier today she looked pretty happy" and then walked away.

I visited a friend's island that had the most terrifying clown neighbor imaginable (Pietro?). My current fave on my island is the sheep that wears a vest decorated like a watermelon slice who does tai chi in the square every morning and has rock star delusions.

Also it was Curlos the ram's birthday last Tuesday and the party in his house was definitely something. The Glee Reaction was a good move to the K.K.Birthday song.

I hadnt seen Redd at all since the museum got its gallery wing which is weird, he doesnt seem to have a set day he shows up, so I've only the 2 paintings so far. Then on Friday a villager just randomly strolls up and says "hey fren have this gift" and gave me a freaking legit painting!?

I wonder if the game felt sorry for me cos Id missed redd or something.

I've been wondering that about Redd - I got one real painting and a fake winged victory statue that I sat outside the museum surrounded by rosebushes and haven't seen him since.

I'm gonna have to keep more of an eye out for his shanty boat up the back of the island I guess - maybe after those first 2 he doesnt come onto land?

Seems it might actually be a known issue, possibly related to tt? But I havent tt - well not strictly speaking anyway. I do sometimes alter the clock but only to "catch up" if I didnt play modt of the prev day - I never go back past already-played time, but maybe that still counts :(

His boat was noted on the map when he was there, so I'm hoping that's always the case. His landing is near my campsite, but I don't usually climb up the cliffs when I'm there.

BTW there are ways to spot the fakes, its not just random chance! You have to know the artwork in question and look for flaws or missing parts. eg I dunno, Venus di milo has arms, that sorta thing.
