I ended up a close third in the my MiniLeague 70s Group, did reasonably well on the final which didn't matter I guess but it's over. Not doing badly on the theater so far.

I'm all set up for my rookie rundle this season, super excited to give it a go even though the sample questions regularly kick my ass.

I was doing well in Theatre -- even scored a 9(6) tie against crossword champ (and off-Broadway pianist) D@n F3yer -- and then I spaced yesterday and forfeited, dropping me from 2nd to 5th in my group.

Wow, sorry. D@n was always really nice, I used to seem to always run into him getting off the subway on the way to the tournament when it was back in Brooklyn.

It's funny how he and the other most-winning champion, Jon D, both have the same job.

317 out of 2184 in the Theater minileague, 85 out of 2494 in portmanteau. "epipen" eluded me.

i had a couple of real good one days lately! 94th percentile in video game business which was shockingly hard (i would've placed 5th overall if i had had a little more confidence in my tougher correct answers). however i did finish 5th overall on stand up comedy audio! the canadian content question gave me 99 points lol

I got to #168 on standup. Had never heard of Melissa Villasenor before!

oh, and i got 100% robbed on portmanteaus, i spelled smize wrong and didn't get points (even though i thought there was a "sounds like" rule?). i was sure it was smize but the portmanteau thing had me second-guessing the spelling, i knew it was "smile with your eyes" so i wrote smeyes.

...and as i read this complaint i go back and look and it was given to me after the fact, lol. still only 314th placement, even though i scored on 11/12! one bad money away from top 100, shame.

Won my first match in my rookie rundle! I like that the questions (somewhat like Jeopardy questions) give you enough information to point you towards an answer, even if you don't directly know what it is.

I won my match! I only got two answers but me opponent's point scheme gave me 2 points, whereas they answered the same questions correctly but I have them 1 total.

At least for the rookie Rundle, the easiest and most difficult questions seem too be reversed in the standings page?

I tied my first day. My opponent and I both got Q2, 3 and 4 correct and had assigned similar points; they got Q5 and I got Q6.

Apropos of one yesterday's questions, it's nice to see that I can leave off a leading article (e.g. "the") and still get the answer counted correctly.

I assigned 3 points to a question about James I when my opponent was Scottish. Oops.

I think just because it's just so blatantly colorful. Like, yes, "Festival of Colors" is an appropriate name for something that looks like this:

Yep, R is Rookie. After your rookie season, you'll be placed in an A-, B-, C-, D-, or E-level rundle, depending on how you finish in your rookie rundle. Also note that the league that you're placed in as a rookie is the same as your referrer, so you're in R Keystone because I'm in A Keystone. (For a long time, I was in Coastal, but the leagues get realigned every so often, and the branch that we're in was moved a couple of seasons ago.)
