Worzel Gummidge

Probably because I never watched either of them when I was a kid, so they kind of blend into one in my non-memory of them.

This is a weird one but:

Amanda Palmer
Laura Palmer

I guess I only kind of barely know who Amanda Palmer is so whenever I see her name pop up somewhere I immediately think of Twin Peaks

The Eyes of Laura Palmer is one where I quickly shake my head and go, wait, that's not right.

never even heard of John Hannah before, just thought James Nesbitt was in Four Weddings etc.

thomasintrouble, Monday, 11 May 2020 10:05 (three years ago) link

Yeah, and I've forever thought it was Hannah in Cold Feet.

yeah I've done Nesbitt / Hannah

Fred Ward
Fred Willard

Is Lou Reed a Good Singer? (Tom D.), Monday, 18 May 2020 08:55 (three years ago) link

^I never had that mix up, but I did often confuse Fred Willard's real name with that of his Fernwood 2 Night character. As in, "You should see Best in Show if only for Jerry Hubbard's performance. He steals the picture."

punning display, Monday, 18 May 2020 19:24 (three years ago) link

None of that stuff ever got shown over here, so he was really not well known at all in the UK. As for Fred Ward, as well as getting his name mixed up with Fred Willard, I get his face mixed up with Robert Forster (the late actor, not the guy from the Go-Betweens).
