I cannot stop playing this album:

https://2ndgrade.bandcamp.com/

It wasn't an instant connection ... first listen I turned it off halfway through. But by my fifth listen I liked it a lot and now I'm on listen #10ish and I absolutely love it. Don't give up on it, is what I'm sayin'.

Dude dips his toes into twang and noisy (but cuddly) punk, however most songs generally stick to sweet, tender, catchy indie-pop.

RIYL Stereolab/Ride/Pastels/G500/Slum of Legs: Spanish female quartet Melenas released a great new indie/jangly/poppy album, 'Dias Raros': https://melenas.bandcamp.com/album/dias-raros

bay area scene dude rob miller from two of our favorite recent bands (mall walk + blues lawyer) is about to release a solo record under the name christian singles. it's on mt. st. mtn. so you know it's gonna be good. pre-release track jams p hard; v head on the door-era cure. i'm excited.

Totally different head. Totally. (Austin), Tuesday, 22 September 2020 23:03 (three years ago) link

Idk where else to post this, but a friend of mine (Joe W0ng) released his debut solo album and it's pretty epic, sort of symphonic folk/pop, liyl the Zombies and Flaming Lips? Guest spots from Mary Timony (who produced), Steven Drozd, Mary Lattimore, etc.

exploding flowers are definitely a good entry to this thread, sugary guitar pop that claims bell/chilton and flying nun records as influences.

the whole album is worth checking out, but this is my fav: https://explodingflowers.bandcamp.com/track/mirror-to-mirror-face-to-face

Virtually unknown Vancouver singer, I was blindsided by this song and then the album followed suit. Is it indie? It's Kathleen Edward/Jennifer Castle/Weather Station (but mostly reminds me of that secretest of Canadian treasures, Mia Sheard)

No rolling 2020 goth so this may be the best bet. New Soft Kill came out today. Have not listened all the way through but sounds great so far. Saw them live a year or so and thought it was great. Never really see them mentioned on here.

Two friends put this out, it's quite lovely I think, not usually my thing but I've been enjoying listening to it. They're both music teachers. https://theovercasts.bandcamp.com/album/own-unknown
