in house I have: living room; kitchen; bathroom; japanese themed room

what are other ideas

i still have an easter themed room. need to phase that out.

I’m planning on doing a tourist trap island / terra cotta excavation with 1000 Tom Nook statues arranged in rows

all i have is an anatomical skeleton model at the foot of my bed

My partner and her sister have created a Japanese garden. also a meditation labyrinth which was my idea ^_^

i have covered about a sixth of the space in flowers, would like to expand that. it's a butterfly paradise!

I regret not going in knowinng we'd have this level of design control - I scattered my homes all over the map and some people have them in neat rows like a suburb. It seems pricey to relocate anything.

Ugh. I mean as someone who only manages to play this maybe 30 mins a day and who isn’t time travelling or chasing crazy turnip prices on reddit or doing any of the other exploits Nintendo seem to be getting pissy about, moves like this make me reluctant to carry on picking it up at all. Making my game slower and more grindy because someone else got rich faster than you wanted them to is such a weird bullshit way to treat your core users.

I guess I’m not too worried about it because you can make enough bells to the point of bells being almost meaningless through the turnip/Reddit axis, but yeah, can understand it being annoying for a casual player not wanting to deal with that.

My turnip prices completely tanked this week. I'm not cut out to be some high risk turnip trader.

Redd did sell me a totally non-sketchy painting this morning, which was nice. My favorite moments lately are when I'm in Resident Services early and catch Nook and Isabelle doing calisthenics.

Fishing, tending flowers, catching bugs, and chatting with neighbors don’t seem aggressively capitalist. It seems like you’re only focused on the “mechanics” as far as raking in bells are involved.

I’m only interested in bells to the extent they can be used to build infrastructure really, and I’m fine with taking that gradually. I think I’ll take my 42K net turnip revenues and leave the gambling to others.

And that’s cool. Me too. I did the Turnip hustle one week. Easily ignorable if it’s not your bag.

I think Redd's first painting's always gonna be legit cos you need it to give to Blathers and start the museum off. After that it seems it'll be the same as previous games - look for the slight off details, to tell if its faek.

I never play turnips unless theyre around 90 or less. Its a silly aside.

What Im sick of now is I have so many DIY cards that I have 2 or more of and you cant store them, and if you drop them on the ground like I did with my fleamarket, you get pinged for "mess" in the Tidy Town stats. I ended up selling them all, just to get rid of the bloody things.

If anyone has any of the exotic/asian style or classic style dark wood furnitures btw let me know. I will pay good bell.

we went to my coworker's island yesterday and it's very well organized with beautiful straight sidewalks between all the houses, floral decorations, a spa area, etc. and my kid basically threw a tantrum bc our island is kind of chaotic and it costs 50,000 bells to move each house if we want to fix it so they were demanding that we all contribute large sums of bells so they can rearrange our whole island. long story short, never go to anyone else's island, especially if they apparently have endless amounts of time to play animal crossing

Yeah, looking at people’s perfectly manicured islands online tends to be more deflating than inspiring in my experience.

if you go to our island there are pieces of furniture like big four poster beds and refrigerators just sitting outside in the middle of the woods or on the beach

my #1 wish for this game would be an island designer feature similar to the room designer where you can make terrain changes, move stuff around, etc. without having to hit the exact right spot with your shovel over and over

Having installed a new light fixture the other day and having a hell of a time getting things to line up, and having to plant some flowers in a different location in my yard because there was too much gravel near a retaining wall... I think my house is already an AC island
