Likely only on AT&T or T-Mobile (or other GSM carriers), as Consumer Cellular uses their networks, and back then iPhones sold by those carriers didn't work on CDMA-based carriers like Verizon or Sprint. Also, you'll need to have CC unlock it first, which shouldn't be a problem if you've fulfilled the original typically 2-year contract.

I did it. probably stupid to pay an extra £100 for the 256GB but ehhhh fuck it. paying monthly makes the difference feel negligible. hotly anticipating now :)

the process of switching from an old iPhone to a new one is pretty wild now. there's a kind of swirly circular QR code on the new phone that you line up in the camera of the old one, and then it starts transferring stuff.

What colour did you get?

black. they all have black bevels so black's the only one that looks right to me. the others look a bit like you've added a decal wrap to the back or something. actually transferring /updating is taking FOREVER.

I’d say yes, for a fresh battery, better camera, more RAM and faster chip. As long as you don’t mind the smaller display size

in all other respects i like the phone. apart from the mail downloads, the keyborad/autocorrect, the odd ability to inadvertently turn the torch on without realising it (still not sure what i’m doing there) and slightly janky approach to wifi (tho i’m not sure this is the phone)
