seems good! I have 3 covers already, balled hard in the last pve for it.

I really appreciated Mr Fantastic (buffed) with BRB & 5Carnage. Carnage makes little attack tiles for the enemy, which do like 1 damage to your team (w/ BRBs protect tiles) but trigger his blue, generating more protect tiles. And matching those little attack times triggers Mr F's yellow, which means you get a free bomb every four such matches. I hit over 1200 in the Fantastic Four PVP with that trio.

I didn’t fully appreciate the changes to Mr Fantastic until that PvP

right? & Mr F's blue is a bomb too when you have a bunch of tiles on the board, which BRB+5Carnage gets you (even 4 Carnage gets you those)---a bomb with a stun! he's still buffed in the Hunt & I'm tempted to keep using him even though my champed Surfer is buffed & thus useful for once.

yeah 5-Carnage + Reed is a great combo. 5-Carnage also great with Medusa

Btw, when did they turn on bonus shards from packs? A month ago? Nice to know they're guaranteed every 35 pulls or whatever it is

they are good! I've gotten them a couple of times, maybe three, but only 3*.

gonna champ Talos today lol, then I don't have any more 4* fully covered but unchamped. still working on Hawkeye Ronin, Thanos, Spider Ham, Maria Hill, and Super Skronk or whatever, rest of the 4* are champed.

I am one cover away from champing Hammond Torch. After him, I still need to champ Karnak, Northstar, Karolina, Maria Hill, and Super Skrull (Spider-Ham doesn't count IMO because he's a limited character). Of those, Karolina has the most covers (4/4/3) but Karnak/Super Skrull are the most useful.

Still not used to the major shift of iso-8 being the player limit factor vs. HP, even though it's been a few years now. Very few of my 4*s are at iso max for their level

yeah I had like 4mil iso until I got my Okoye champed a few months ago; she's a real game changer! I was able to hit 900 in PVP with her consistently, and got into a top alliance, so now the covers flow. I'm not using Okoye much now that I have BRB at 460, he & Carnage are such beasts in PVP, in particular on defense so I don't get many defensive losses once I get past 600 or so (though I did today in the pvp I guess because the super skull guy can steal tiles, not sure, maybe I played at the wrong time, I usually make my runs in the European morning when usa players are mostly asleep and asian players should be working)

I cannot stress enough how great Super Skrull is

I reread the description of his purple and that steals enemy strikes/attacks/protects upon expiration

Thanks to her PvP, I'm wondering if Thorkoye/Invisible Woman is a hard counter to Kitty/BRB; I'm using her blue to get rid of the annoying boosted protects without giving them any blue, her yellow to hide from damage, and her green fueled by Thor and buoyed by Okoye to 2-shot Kitty

Does locking her countdown with blue work? She doesn't make another one?

You can’t lock repeaters so her countdown keeps going but it gets tangled up in the protects and strikes from IW’s yellow and blue. My IW is 4/4/5 so she drops 2 protects on yellow and 3 strikes on blue, which means if you fire them both in the same turn and the AI doesn’t match any of them away, you have 6 turns to kill her or fire yellow or blue again to extend the timer, by which point you can absolutely murder her with IW’s green.

btw I was totally wrong; you CAN lock repeaters and, because it's still on the board, she doesn't make another one

At least Karolina has synergy with Nico. Northstar half-assed generates AP, half-assed burst heals your team, and half-assed deals damage. It's the perfect realization of the character from the comic books in a lot of ways; playing him feels very self-important but ultimately disappointing.

The random invisibility proc from his countdown is nice, though.

He sucks. The crash with him today...well, I won first try because I have him champed, and the Thanos enemy is underleveled. But it was kinda close! Awful character.

I liked how his yellow countdown consistently appeared in an easily-matchable spot every time I fired it.

Just champed 5* Iceman

He's great with Thorokoye for the cl10 challenge nodes. It's easy to beat on defense, but it's a strong offensive team, one of the best. The trick is to prefer Iceman's cheap green over Thor's, because boosted by Okoye, it's doing huge recurring damage, and huge team damage when you match them. Once several of the repeaters get lined up, say at the bottom, you can blast them with Okoye's red for incredible damage.

really Thor is just there to generate green quickly

Ha yeah, I was already doing that when I had Bobby at 4/4/4; it's a fantastic team

Basically, save enough green to cast Bobby's repeaters twice; cast on successive turns; continue collecting teamups while passive damage melts the opposition and cascades stunlock them

5000 HP for 3 WorthCap covers + 3 Iron Spider covers + some other trifles. Worth it? I have a ton of HP stocked up.

I have Iron Spider champed, and like 2 covers on Cap.

Both very strong four stars. I’m thinking about it too.

Apocalypse is ridiculous

yup. I guess I'm hoarding for him; have 30 legendary tokens saved so far & several hundred CPs. I wasn't really trying for this, but I got Mr Sinister to 13 covers and didn't want any more, and Havok is ok but not that great. zombie Hulk is great but I'll wait for Belova (have one cover for her so far) zombie Hulk and Apocalypse in the LL store before drawing this mini hoard.

I’m hoping to cover Sinister before this PVP season ends and he rotates out (currently 4/2/5) but I’m probably gonna hoard once he leaves (although I have Havok at 3/4/2 so I might as well keep pulling)

(I also like pulling legendaries because it beefs up my 4* tier, which gives me a better stream of CP/shards/tokens since I don't play for placement and have become lax about progression)

totally, I hate hoarding, this is the first time I've done it. my Kitty Pryde is still only 4-5-2 (really, 4-7-2, thank goodness for saved covers) and she's my bonus shard char so that's gonna be a lot of those when I draw these tokens.

I hit Shield Rank 120 so I figured, why not try the Lvl 10 PvE?

There's a special green node that has like boosted 5* teams. it's nuts

Yeah it’s really only for 5* champed teams and even there it’s tough

I'm going to spend my hoard on Apocalypse too. Finally a 5* who can decimate Bishop teams.

I have been considering setting Worthy as my bonus hero solely to get enough champ levels for him to survive more than 3 hits on that node; if he can survive that, he generates enough cooldowns for my Coulson/underleveled 5* Hawkeye to stunlock the other team indefinitely and beat the node

It is SLOW but it works

still relying on Iceman Thorkoye for the challenge node. usually I get 4 clears or even 5 if I'm trying to make up for missing 4 one of the other days.

The snail team is more consistent for me; too many times Iceman has accidentally starved the board of blue because I couldn’t match tiles or a cascade stunned the wrong character and the one I actually wanted to stun unleashes a team-wiping AOE

yeah it fails sometimes (maybe 10%?) but I just try to match blue and team ups, spread the stun around as I can, blast green asap and fire Okoye's red to clear columns of green repeaters for the big booms. the stun is just to keep the baddies from doing too much bad, really the team ups are crucial (and firing Okoye's yellow a lot helps with that, plus cascades which can pop green repeaters). it's usually fast!

but I can't run anything with 5hawkeye 1-1-1 so I can't compare with that team.

my snail team would involve BRB + Kitty, it's hard to get used to that compared to the speed of any Thorkoye team, but after a few turns you don't take damage even on big bombs so it's good too.

All you really need for it to work perfectly is 2 purple; it would probably work with 1 but the AP gain would be slower. I have the entire opposing team stunned after turn 2 and I can fuel Worthy's stun indefinitely off of 5Hawkeye's 5 AP powers/Coulson's 1-turn countdowns. I'm guessing with 1 purple you would need Worthy to eat 3 hits and survive, at which point you'd have to hoard blue so you could restun the other team and chase red so you can fire as many Deep Breaths as you can to get Coulson to refuel you.

my Coulson and Worthy are both pretty decently leveled, I could give it a try, if I lost it wouldn't matter.

Yeah, the most important thing is "can Worthy survive a few hits" because if he can, that's 4 free red and 4 free blue with 5Hawk's purple at 1; boosting red let's you cross the threshold to fire 5Hawk's red, which gives you a Coulson cooldown for another blue and red; a blue match then lets you stun whoever is most dangerous and boosting blue helps make up the deficit of not having 5Hawk's purple at 2. I think you might get taken down because your AP gen is halved since 5Hawk's purple is at 1 rather than 2 but you will be able to stunlock pretty much any team vulnerable to stun once you get that next purple cover.

ok cool; only have 150 shards with him, and I'm still dedicated to champing Kitty so all shards go to her, but then I can try to get another Hawkeye purple. My Kate Bishop is at 295 so she's on track to get me the shards for another 5Hawkeye cover. But for the time being, it's dumb Emma Frost that gets all my 4* shards :(
