Timothy Brown, ‘M*A*S*H’ Actor and NFL Player, Dies at 82

His M*A*S*H character was nicknamed Spearchucker wtiaf

^^Fred Williamson played the character, a 1950s pro quarterback/surgeon, in the movie. They retconned the character from the show when they discovered surgical units weren't actually racially integrated during the Korean War.

Checking his imdb, I'd forgotten that Brown also had a bit role in the M*A*S*H movie, making him one of the handful of actors from it who also did the show. He would reunite with Altman to play the Charley Pride analog Tommy Brown in Nashville.

Wow, Ōbayashi died around the exact time my daughter and I were trying to figure out how to email him through his visiting professorship at the Nagaoka Institute of Design. HOUSE is her favourite film.

On 24 March 1975, Alex Mitchell, a 50-year-old bricklayer from King's Lynn, literally died laughing while watching an episode of The Goodies. According to his wife, who was a witness, Mitchell was unable to stop laughing whilst watching a sketch in the episode "Kung Fu Kapers" in which Tim Brooke-Taylor, dressed as a kilted Scotsman, used a set of bagpipes to defend himself from a black pudding-wielding Bill Oddie (master of the ancient Lancastrian martial art "Ecky-Thump") in a demonstration of the Scottish martial art of "Hoots-Toot-ochaye." After twenty-five minutes of continuous laughter Mitchell finally slumped on the settee and died from heart failure.[27] His widow later sent the Goodies a letter thanking them for making Mitchell's final moments so pleasant.

Because I only heard him on the radio post-Goodies, I always imagined TB-T to be the same age as he was back then. So he was 79? Wow. Very sad news indeed.

He was a contemporary of John Cleese & co at Cambridge, guess he must have been in his 30s when the Goodies were big
