on one of our groups someone did a poll about how members of the local group were going to deal with April's rent -- a dozen people voted they were going to "pay as normal" -- one of the group admins (who I am friends with) wants to ban all these people from the group.

I suggested to them (the admin -- a non-binary person) that they don't know whether there are any other circumstances involved that might make paying rent and not acting in solidarity with the rent strike, a politically acceptable choice.

actually tbf the side of the argument i encountered in my version was your side: anarchists saying "yes rent strikes are good and proper but don't just leap into them without working out what we happen down the road and how we fight that too" (the pro side being meme-y twitter hotheads i guess) (who i don't know)
