Do you guys sell your 3* as soon as you complete the cycle? I'm finding it hard to let go of 'em and just buy another roster slot. Esp hard to drop my maxed out 3* Doctor Strange, with 4* Starlord and 4* Carol, too good for AI NPC teams.

I did the first time through, now I have enough hp to keep a copy

I usually sell maxed 3*s right away. I kept Scarlet Witch for a while because I actually use her. Thanos is another good one.

I started keeping my max champed 3*s as a usable ISO bank that I can dip into if I suddenly need to max champ a 5*. Currently waiting on a 13th Iceman cover to dip into it (sitting on 19 with Scarlet Witch and Spidey at 259 each)

I've been working on bringing the last few ***s I have up to champion level. It's amazing how much easier this is to do with the shard system. You can just pile up the shards until they're ready and not have to worry about the cards expiring or needing to make room on your roster.

Is anyone else keeping track of their roster on gamepedia? I haven't updated in a while but here's mine (I posted it before but it's lost in the 7K previous posts on this thread):

That’s why I update it like once a quarter, lol

spidey instead of juggernaut for your * is interesting. just bored of jugs or do you find yourself using spidey outside of the daily?
― reggae mike love (polyphonic), Friday, 20 March 2020 19:11 (four years ago) link
I think he's slightly better for the daily. Red is similar and he has two other direct damage powers instead of 1 other.
― wasdnuos (abanana), Friday, 20 March 2020 19:21 (four years ago) link
1* Spidey is a bad-ass
― DJP, Friday, 20 March 2020 19:25 (four years ago) link
I ended up leveling 1* Spidey and 1* Iron Man just to accelerate DDQ
― DJP, Friday, 20 March 2020 19:26 (four years ago) link
Hmm, maybe I'll try switching to Spidey just to spice things up a bit
― reggae mike love (polyphonic), Friday, 20 March 2020 19:29 (four years ago) link
His red is high enough to one-shot most (if not all) DDQ enemies, his purple drops crits and his blue stuns. It's glorious.
I like IM because his yellow does damage as well as negating the already-trivial match damage from DDQ enemies.
― DJP, Friday, 20 March 2020 19:36 (four years ago) link
I used to have the three of them together but then I pared it down. That was like two years ago tho lol

i don't totally understand the gameplay here. also seems like you'd be better off with a 5* setup that doesn't kill your own team? not a fan of the self-damage characters

Basically, he kills himself and immediately resurrects with increasing match damage, along with a passive AOE whenever there's enough green on the board and a red nuke that, when fully levelled, does 32K damage. Also, once he dies, he comes back with just enough health to be up for a round or two before going down again, which gives true-healers like Okoye (whose power boosts his) and Daredevil (who also throws out strike tiles when he heals) time to top up before taking another round of damage. GEDoom is also a decent partner because he heals on every enemy yellow/black match and can throw out burst healing to give your team some breathing room from the Immortal Hulk death spiral. You could also try using airborne characters like Vulture or Danver5; plus, I wonder if Nightcrawler avoids his AOE.
― DJP, Friday, 27 March 2020 18:44 (four years ago) link
There is also Phoenix, who gets more powerful after coming back from being downed, and 5 Loki, who comes back if you can match his trap
― DJP, Friday, 27 March 2020 18:45 (four years ago) link
ah ok. good explanation
― Nhex, Friday, 27 March 2020 18:49 (four years ago) link
I'm kind of obsessed with the resurrection mechanic and this is the first character I've seen where I think it might actually work. I'm also not particularly hardcore about playing competitively anymore so I'm not overly concerned about conserving health packs.
― DJP, Friday, 27 March 2020 18:49 (four years ago) link
(FYI, I tried 3Thanos and Nightcrawler out together and Nightcrawler still ate the friendly AOE, so take him off the potential partner for Immortal Hulk list)

This one is hilarious. Bishop is total non-entity here:

Immortal Hulk's PVP with Kitty and Beta Ray Bill is hilarious if you can get to 6 red or 6 blue right away; all incoming damage is down to 1 in two turns if you can keep the protects out and once you get Kitty's red out, the opposing IHulk mindlessly AOEs you into flooding the board with attack tiles that Kitty can then buff into oblivion. Alternately, get BRB's blue out and every AOE gives Kitty four more protects to buff.
― DJP, Monday, 30 March 2020 20:10 (four years ago) link
I’m just a few shards away from champing BRB. Kitty still 3-5-1 so :(

Also I champed Northstar today so :(:(
― Joey Corona (Euler), Monday, 30 March 2020 21:08 (four years ago) link
Honestly you don’t need them champed. My BRB is 5-4-1 and I’ve been getting defensive wins

Yeah I’ve done some matches with zombie hulk brb kitty now and it’s a bit slow but seems unstoppable

I am guessing the passive AP gen from half-health Thor will give you lots of opportunities to fire that blue and purple, both of which will be aggravating for Kitty and BRB. The stunner bros (Worthy, Bishop) will still be a problem, though.

Nico is pretty good if you don't have a decent Kitty. The only other one I ever use is Ghost Rider for his black.

New favorite team: 5* Hawkeye, Worthy, 4* Gamora
Each match takes forever BUT it’s stun lock city
― DJP, Friday, 10 April 2020 18:08 (four years ago) link
I don’t have a usable 5 Hawkeye (1-1-1 or something)Now that I hit 1000 in every PVP I have enough cp to get 5s better. BRB at 457 already! I champed him like a week ago. Have Sinister at 11 covers already too though I don’t know if he’s any good
― Joey Corona (Euler), Friday, 10 April 2020 19:27 (four years ago) link
My Hawkeye is under leveled so he sometimes dies quickly but when it works, it’s amazing. Worthy soaks up all the damage and Hawkeye generates blue and red off of Worthy’s countdowns, which lets Gamora stun lock using the blue and Hawkeye top up AP with his red. Let an enemy hit Worthy again if you run low on blue and red and jumpstart the whole process again.
― DJP, Friday, 10 April 2020 19:31 (four years ago) link
btw Super Skrull is awesome; I used the 1/1/1 PvP loaner Okoye to 2-shot champed Kittys by loading up on TU, then cycling his purple/blue (Thing)/green she's still standing, dumping 90K of damage on her before she can overwrite his purple countdown
― DJP, Monday, 13 April 2020 13:40 (four years ago) link
seems good! I have 3 covers already, balled hard in the last pve for it.
I really appreciated Mr Fantastic (buffed) with BRB & 5Carnage. Carnage makes little attack tiles for the enemy, which do like 1 damage to your team (w/ BRBs protect tiles) but trigger his blue, generating more protect tiles. And matching those little attack times triggers Mr F's yellow, which means you get a free bomb every four such matches. I hit over 1200 in the Fantastic Four PVP with that trio.
― Joey Corona (Euler), Monday, 13 April 2020 13:57 (four years ago) link
I didn’t fully appreciate the changes to Mr Fantastic until that PvP
― DJP, Monday, 13 April 2020 14:24 (four years ago) link
right? & Mr F's blue is a bomb too when you have a bunch of tiles on the board, which BRB+5Carnage gets you (even 4 Carnage gets you those)---a bomb with a stun! he's still buffed in the Hunt & I'm tempted to keep using him even though my champed Surfer is buffed & thus useful for once.
― Joey Corona (Euler), Monday, 13 April 2020 14:49 (four years ago) link
yeah 5-Carnage + Reed is a great combo. 5-Carnage also great with Medusa
