"John Finn's Wife" on Live Seeds by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. This is the rare live album wherein the live renditions acutally improve upon the studio versions (notably "Papa Won't Leave You Henry"). It fuckin' rocks, and there is literally not a bum track here.

And John Finn's Wife took all the flowers down, from her hair and threw them on the ground....

Curet Alonso: Aqui Estoy con un Poco de Algo, "Eres la Mulata."

I'm happy with this CD. It was sort of a risky purchase because Tite Curet was primarily a songwriter, and this is the only album where he does all the lead vocals (and for all I know the only album on which he does any), but he's a pretty good singer, and I like the sound of the band backing him. It's very vibes-heavy mid-70's salsa, kind of like the approach on album Cheo (alternating between boleros and faster numbers). And the sound is extremely good, which makes me angrier about the poor quality of so many of the Latin reissues I have bought. But this is from a small label, West Side Latino.

Wear a homemade ILX shirt or something.

Hey, that reminds me - what happened to the idea (or something) of the special design ILX shirts? I'd sure buy a couple!
(With, say, the very money I'm saving by not going to the Boccelli gig ;)
