A bunch of free and cheap game on itch.io right now. Mu Cartographer is interesting and Where the Water Tastes Like Wine has been on my wishlist for a while.

I own a good chunk of this, but 100%-to-charity game bundles are my Proustian madeleines. Besides already being incredibly cheap at $40, it gets pro-rated down if you own pieces of it already, which you probably do. Ends tonight.

Nhex, Sunday, 10 May 2020 06:26 (three years ago) link

Man, imagine wasting my life playing through Legacy of Kain again. But in a good way!

Andrew Farrell, Sunday, 10 May 2020 09:04 (three years ago) link

Yeah that ended up at £20 for me because I already have everything I want from it. Bought it anyway. :-/

JimD, Sunday, 10 May 2020 11:12 (three years ago) link

I downloaded Legacy of Kain collection a couple of years back and realised that none of the 3d ones have built-in controller support, and the cameras for early 2000s games are way worse than you tend to remember. Watched some fun outtake footage of Simon Templeman and Tony Jay camply bantering between takes on Soul Reaver recently tho 🤘

Steam codes going if yous want any of these:

N8R2Y-D396C-0XY2H
Yakuza Kiwami

PNTX6-XVXM9-B0FZT
Middle Earth: Shadow of War

MWGI7-VVBLT-GZIHV
Street Fighter V

Dadjokke (Sgt. Biscuits), Sunday, 10 May 2020 12:20 (three years ago) link

I took Yakuza.. thank you! I'm half way through Zero and that's my first one.

I just noticed this thread. I'm sure I have a bunch of codes on humblebundle.com I haven't used.. hopefully something decent. I'll post this evening.

maffew12, Sunday, 10 May 2020 13:23 (three years ago) link

Okay, but this isn't the thread for that - it's First Come, First Served: A Thread for Offering Duplicate Games from Bundle Sales as Gifts

(though it's pretty unlikely someone would have that one bookmarked and not this one)

Andrew Farrell, Sunday, 10 May 2020 13:28 (three years ago) link

(but thank you in advance!)

Andrew Farrell, Sunday, 10 May 2020 13:31 (three years ago) link

I took Shadow of War, which I've been meaning to try for a while now after enjoying Shadow of Mordor. Thanks, Sgt. Biscuits!

pomenitul, Sunday, 10 May 2020 13:36 (three years ago) link

I nabbed SFV. Thank you, Biscuits.

Judi Dench's Human Hand (methanietanner), Sunday, 10 May 2020 13:53 (three years ago) link

thanks Andrew. Done!

maffew12, Sunday, 10 May 2020 19:11 (three years ago) link

Enjoy, all!

Tried the demo of Ghostrunner earlier (synthwave Mirror's Edge with Hotline Miami margin of error), seems like it has a lot of potential, but the Steam controller support was too much of a mess to get far with it

Other things I've dabbled with recently:
Got SpellForce 3 free with a games for NHS workers offer, a little janky but impressive that it combines warcraft and a party-based RPG so well

Iratus: Darkest Dungeon but you play as the bad guy and build a nasty monster team that inflicts psychological horrors on nervous peasant crossbowmen. Good crack so far

Mount and Blade 2: in a bit of a rough state still. Immediately got back into the same loop of pitifully missing people from horseback, chasing bandits halfway across the map and every NPC I talk to saying no, they haven't heard any rumours and they don't need any work done

FYI, the more "prominent" games in the big bundle:
Night in the Woods, A Short Hike, Quadrilateral Cowboy.

In case Super Bernie Bros wasn't enough for ya!
Should be enough play to drive you insane before we get a Covid-19 vaccine.

Ah ok - I saw the site owner posted a "best of" list:

Ste, Monday, 8 June 2020 08:41 (three years ago) link

Bundles been updated with a couple of hundred more titles. The list seems to be reordered as well. A lot of the bigger titles are on the first couple of pages now.

I've yet to download anything from it, but I did start playing, and do recommend, the in-browser demo of the puzzle game Cardinal Chains.

Some of the items are rpg gamebooks or game resources. A few of the games seem to be free on itch.io already.

2064 Read Only Memories has been added. I've had this on my Steam wishlist for bloody years lol, I can finally try it.

Ste, Tuesday, 9 June 2020 14:11 (three years ago) link

(I believe it's pretty good)

Ste, Tuesday, 9 June 2020 14:12 (three years ago) link

When I checked through the isthereanydeal wishlist sync, I think I had like eight indie games that were Steam wishlisted and happened to be in the bundle. Not a small feat considering how many I already do own from bundling.

Nhex, Thursday, 11 June 2020 00:04 (three years ago) link

As mentioned in the itch thread:
https://www.humblebundle.com/fight-for-racial-justice-bundle

Fantastic bundle, though $30 mininum and of course I own over half of it. Still, 100% to charity

Nhex, Tuesday, 16 June 2020 21:30 (three years ago) link

If there was also some way to sync my save file this would definitely mean me jumping from PS4 to PC (via GeForce Now, which I’m using loads at the moment).

JimD, Wednesday, 17 June 2020 09:33 (three years ago) link

(Huh, apparently that IS possible for Switch <> PC, surprisingly...but switch version owners are locked out of the free-pc copy offer. And cross save from PS4 is a no. Meanwhile GeForce Now supports The Witcher 3...but not the GoG version, which is the one this offer gives you. Foiled all round!)

This month's Humble Choice is the first great one in a while, so I get to unpause. Indivisible, Children of Morta, One Step From Eden, Shining Resonance Refrain and more.

Yogscast Jingle Jam changed sites from Humble this year, but as usual it doesn't look super great.
