the main reason for this thread is that she is an excellent twitterer, so maybe her daily handful of zings can go here instead of the other threads.

however, if i worry about anything with AOC, it's that one day she's going to slip up in some major way, probably on twitter. the right wing is foaming at the mouth to take her down because they recognize what a beacon she's already become.

i mentioned in another thread that she got numbers and things wrong and it was kind of embarrassing (what the branches of government were, some medicare numbers; I think there may have been something else). I think she does better when speaking in societal goals; hence, the new green deal, which seems to kind of leave the specifics out but makes sense as an aspiration. what am I saying? sorry i'm high.

i never understood what was so bad about the title considering it was obviously a callback to the Obama title. also it's a decent framing to examine those candidates who have a progressive following and determine if they measure up to their reputation. xp on one hand i gave it the obama-referencing title because i liked/like obama and her ascent was reminding me of the early obama days when it seemed he could do no wrong. and also because, inevitably, like obama, she will screw up. to me, "what are ____'s flaws" is a genre of thread title (a genre of 2) that refers to people you genuinely like a lot and want to succeed, but i understand how that doesn't come through to people who aren't glued to the political threads

I genuinely love how unflappable she is. And I love imagining how flapped her would-be antagonists are by her unflappability.

I don't have a problem with the title of this thread any more than I did with the Obama one. I don't open this thread intending or expecting to see people talking shit about her, but I don't expect a cheerleading section either. the mildly cautious eye-on-u approach seems ok.

i believe there are actually lots of good congresspeople, they just don't make news.

i am very sorry to nitpick, and i'm actually ok with changing the title to whatever, but why keep the "flawed" part in it, even in parentheses, if that's the part that prompts negative feelings when it's seen? just ditch it entirely imo, it's not a big deal
