Lo Celso is very good.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 19 February 2020 21:45 (four years ago) link

BSC Joan Baez (darraghmac), Wednesday, 19 February 2020 21:45 (four years ago) link

Is Troy Parrott on the bench?

Matt DC, Wednesday, 19 February 2020 21:46 (four years ago) link

No.

ShariVari, Wednesday, 19 February 2020 21:49 (four years ago) link

get pretty sick of moody shots of dele fuckin alli when the prick isnt lifting his arse to fart when selected

BSC Joan Baez (darraghmac), Wednesday, 19 February 2020 21:53 (four years ago) link

Lamela has been brilliant since coming on. Dele looks livid but I assume he's being saved for Saturday.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 19 February 2020 21:54 (four years ago) link

rotten rotten stuff, very much in line with the shit shovelled in front of us lately

BSC Joan Baez (darraghmac), Wednesday, 19 February 2020 21:54 (four years ago) link

Sometimes do a bit where I pretend to be an enthusiastic supporter of all Red Bull sponsored teams. Feel kind of undermined at having to cheer for them on the real

Still can't fathom what he was thinking starting with four defenders and six attacking midfielders. Or three defenders and seven attacking midfielders if you count Aurier. It's bordering on sabotage.

ShariVari, Thursday, 20 February 2020 09:39 (four years ago) link

just playing aurier is sabotage hes a cunt

Sabotage? Mourinho?! Never!

Le Bateau Ivre, Thursday, 20 February 2020 09:54 (four years ago) link

Yes, where is the fun loving attack-minded Mourinho Spurs fans were expecting?

Load up your rubber wallets (Tom D.), Thursday, 20 February 2020 10:14 (four years ago) link

oh i would hate to break character now by blaming a coach for moron players

these lads were shit under poch for more often than is noted, he just had them drilled to minimise their individual errors or weaknesses impacting the team.

but even that fell to shit in the end, understandably enough.

three months in and no strikers bought isnt time to throw blame mourinhos way imo

if hes still picking aurier et al at end of summer he should be sacked or resign, same as poch

BSC Joan Baez (darraghmac), Thursday, 20 February 2020 10:25 (four years ago) link

I didn't see the game yesterday, did any of you happen to notice how Ethan Ampadu did for Leipzig?

Tim, Thursday, 20 February 2020 10:38 (four years ago) link

Mourinho's already shaved the head and it's not even six months in

it's over lads

Number None, Thursday, 20 February 2020 11:01 (four years ago) link

xp fraid not i caught the last half hour in a noisy bar so didnt tbh take note of too much ito individual leipzig players

BSC Joan Baez (darraghmac), Thursday, 20 February 2020 11:08 (four years ago) link

Ampadu was very good.

Mourinho isn't to blame for individual errors and players underperforming, he's absolutely to blame for expecting a central midfield consisting of a 21-year-old winger and Harry Winks to hold back a team currently level on points with Bayern in the league. Spurs were incalculably better when Lamela and Ndombele came on. They barely had a touch of the ball in the first half.

ShariVari, Thursday, 20 February 2020 11:13 (four years ago) link

see above!

would be fair to say that the first hour of each of our last few games has been very strangely set up and improved after the subs

whether theres a genius to it or not, who can say eh

BSC Joan Baez (darraghmac), Thursday, 20 February 2020 11:14 (four years ago) link

LOL Chelsea.

How quickly people forget Bayern’s other Canadian superstar of the early 00s.

Vancouver Nightcaps is adorable btw.

ShariVari, Tuesday, 25 February 2020 21:46 (four years ago) link

Wondering if jim was in Vancouver to support Kenny Miller during his stint with the Whitecaps.

this was of course the impetus.

I only saw Kenny play once or twice for Vancouver but he scored 2 good goals in one game, a 4-2 victory.

its difficult to blame everyone involved to the correct extent without absolving others equally deserving of blame

With apologies to the 200 Spurs fans on ILX, few things are sweeter than watching Mourinho lose.

BSC Joan Baez (darraghmac), Tuesday, 10 March 2020 22:00 (four years ago) link

With Poch, completely out of the question with Mourinho in charge.

I'm loving Mourinho's Spurs I have to say

Number None, Tuesday, 10 March 2020 22:17 (four years ago) link

main objection to mourinho is the salary, secondary is the feigned helplessness we were only paying poch 8m a year for

BSC Joan Baez (darraghmac), Tuesday, 10 March 2020 22:24 (four years ago) link

Mourinho is long past his best and the fact that he keeps getting "big" jobs in the prem is an indictment of how backwards the suits that run football clubs are. any club that takes him on deserves all they get

COVID and the Gang (jim in vancouver), Tuesday, 10 March 2020 22:37 (four years ago) link

Sacking Pochettino, the club's best manager in decades, for having a poor start to the season after starving his team for three windows in a row was a fucking idiotic call.

Pretty sure he was glad to go by then.

starving his team such that he turned into the listless shadow he was was the idiocy

Poch is the least to blame of anyone here, when he walks into a cushy Bundesliga job we'll all be reminded quite how good a coach he was, particularly on limited resources. Poor squad building is ultimately laid at Levy's door, and Mourinho has been making the absolute worst of a bad job.

Individual players have been idiots time and time again but the frequency of these cock-ups has definitely been increasing over the course of this season.
